  • Patent number: 6485412
Abstract: An adapter for a disposable water bottle for an endoscope having a cap with threads suitable for attachment to threads on a neck of the water bottle, an outer tube affixed to an opening in the cap, an inner tube extending through the outer tube so as to form an air passing annulus on the interior of the outer tube, and a fitting affixed to an end of the inner and outer tubes opposite the cap. The fitting is adapted for attachment to the air and water connections of the endoscope. A first gasket member is affixed to an interior surface of the cap and a second gasket member is affixed to the first gasket member such that the first gasket member is sandwiched between the second gasket member and the interior surface. An annular member is secured within a hole formed in the fitting and has a slot receiving a protrusion formed in the hole of the fitting.

  • Patent number: 6286179
Abstract: A device for use in the cleaning of an endoscope having a body with a first end, a second end and a longitudinal passageway extending therebetween, a seal affixed to the body between the first and second ends, and a transverse passageway formed in the body between the second end and the seal. The transverse passageway communicates with the longitudinal passageway. The body has a central body portion of greater diameter than a remainder of the body. The seal is positioned between the central body portion and the transverse passageway. The first end is adapted for connection to a suction line. The body has a section with a diameter adapted to be received within an air/water cavity of the endoscope. A seal is affixed around the section so as to have a diameter suitable for sealing engagement with the valve cavity. A sealing shoulder is formed on the body between the transverse passageway and the second end so as to restrict air flow between the air/water inlet line to the air/water nozzle line.

  • Patent number: 6210322
Abstract: An adapter for a disposable water bottle for an endoscope having a cap with threads suitable for attachment to threads on a neck of the water bottle, an outer tube affixed to an opening in the cap, and an inner tube extending through the outer tube. The inner tube forms an air passing annulus on an interior of the outer tube. The inner tube extends outwardly of an end of the outer tube and through the opening in the cap. A fitting is non-removably affixed to an end of the inner and outer tubes opposite the cap. The fitting is adapted for attachment to air and water connections of the endoscope. The outer tube, the inner tube and the cap are formed of a polymeric material.

  • Patent number: 5307790
Abstract: A retractor instrument for opening a surgical incision on a human limb having a first tissue holder for grasping an edge of the incision, a second tissue holder for grasping another edge of the incision, a band extending from the first tissue holder to the second tissue holder in a generally circular configuration around the limb away from the incision, and an adjustor connected to the band so as to vary a distance between the first and second tissue holders. The band includes a first band member connected to the first tissue holder and a second band member connected to the second tissue holder. The adjustor is a clamp which is suitable for engaging grooves formed in the first band member. The tissue holders are rake members having a plurality of prongs extending therefrom. The rake members are pivotally connected to the ends of the bands. The first band member and the second band member are arranged in overlapping configuration.

  • Patent number: 5307805
Abstract: A retractor instrument assembly having a sleeve with a non-circular cross-sectional shape, an elongated rod slidably received within the sleeve, and a plurality of blades foldably connected together at an end of the elongated rod. The elongated rod has a handle at one end. The blades are hingedly connected to the rod at the end opposite the handle. The blades are movable between a folded configuration and an unfolded configuration. The folded configuration assumes a position which is slidable within the sleeve. The sleeve has a passageway with a triangular cross-section. The blades are of a generally triangular configuration when in the folded position. The plurality of blades includes a first blade connected to the rod, a second blade resiliently connected to one side of the first blade, and a third blade resiliently connected to an opposite side of the first blade. A remote actuator is provided so as to angularly displace the blades relative to the elongated rod.
