The video management system includes: a video topic management unit extracting a topic from information associated with a video, storing the extracted topic, and monitoring the video associated with the stored topic; a video storage management unit storing the video and information associated with the video, and managing a storage space based on the topic which is stored in the video topic management unit; and a topic video management unit generating a topic video of the monitored video when the video associated with the stored topic is monitored, and providing a search function and a navigation function of the video which is stored in the video storage management unit.

Abstract: A summary clip generation system according to the present invention includes: an event detection unit detecting a video event and an audio event from multimedia contents; a segment generation unit generating at least one segment by dividing or merging at least one shot which forms the multimedia contents, by referring to the video event; and a segment selection unit selecting a segment whose uprush degree is greater than a predetermined level, from the at least one segment by referring to the uprush degree which is calculated using the video event and the audio event, corresponding to each of the generated segments.

Abstract: An apparatus for and a method of detecting a gradual shot transition in a moving picture The method includes: setting at least one feature point of a frame included in the moving picture, tracking the set at least one feature point, and setting a feature point of a subsequent frame, from the tracked at least one feature point; calculating a feature value corresponding to each feature point of each of the frames; and comparing corresponding feature values of corresponding feature points which are tracked for each of the frames, and determining that a gradual shot transition between the frames occurs when the comparison value is greater than a predetermined threshold value.
