Abstract: The present invention discloses a consolidation software program that includes a set of tables, a GUI, an inference engine, and an output generation engine. The set of tables can include one or more tables that define characteristics of a network. The tables can include entries for each server in the network and can also specify hardware characteristics of each server. The GUI can visually present the tables in an interactive manner, which permits users to add/change table values. The inference engine can automatically generate values used to populate uncompleted entries of the set of tables based upon values of other entries in the set of tables. The output generation engine can automatically generate at least one alternative configuration to the network configuration based upon table values that include at least one inferred value generated by the inference engine. The alternative configuration can consolidate servers relative to the network configuration.
