Publication number: 20230143730Abstract: An oil containment system aboard a vessel includes a pneumatic system to provide power to a winch and reel assembly containing boom whereby the pneumatic supply is capable of simultaneously powering the winch-reel assembly for boom deployment through inflatable gas fed to a pneumatic motor while also inflating the boom. The inflation of the boom is accomplished by diverting, all or any portion thereof, the inflatable gas from a pneumatic supply through a hose that runs concurrently on the outside of the boom. The pneumatic supply originates from a single pneumatic system powering both the winch and reel assembly as well as associated brake and feeding inflatable gas pressure to the inflation hose running concurrently with the boom. The system can be utilized to confine a discharge of a floating material such as hydrocarbons floating on the surface from a vessel or structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2022Publication date: May 11, 2023Applicant: OCTOPUS CONTAINMENT TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventors: Michael T. D. Miller, Dorin Boldor, Jeffrey Daniel Ortego

Publication number: 20110318109Abstract: An oil containment system aboard a vessel which includes a pneumatic system to provide power to a winch and reel assembly containing boom whereby the pneumatic supply is capable of simultaneously powering the winch-reel assembly for boom deployment through inflatable gas fed to a pneumatic motor while also inflating the boom. The inflation of the boom is accomplished by diverting, all or any portion thereof, the inflatable gas from a pneumatic supply through a hose that runs concurrently on the outside of the boom wherein appropriate rates of inflatable gas pressure are allowed to flow through the hose to feed through a valve and hose assembly that connects the inflatable gas supply of the hose to the inflatable gas containment system of the boom. The pneumatic supply originates from a single pneumatic system powering both the winch and reel assembly as well as associated brake and feeding inflatable gas pressure to the inflation hose running concurrently with the boom.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2010Publication date: December 29, 2011Inventors: Michael T. Publication number: 20080050496Abstract: An apparatus and method of combining and mixing in precise proportions two or more chemicals or compounds is disclosed. The basic design of the apparatus comprises an operator control system, a drive motive assembly, one or more mixing chamber assemblies, and a cooling system. Suitable proportions of each chemical or compound may be controlled with relatively high precision. In one embodiment, the mixing chamber assemblies each comprise at least one static mixer having a plurality of perforations encased in an outer air-injection jacket. In this embodiment, the apparatus is used to make a cool, stabilized foam product, (e.g., whipping cream) infused with an alcoholic beverage without the need for adding supplemental foam stabilizing agents (e.g., polypropylene glycol alginate or pectin) to the product.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 25, 2006Publication date: February 28, 2008Inventors: Dorin Boldor, Erik A.
