  • Publication number: 20190246337
Abstract: A method for broadcasting system information to a machine-type-communication (MTC) terminal performing machine-type-communication, the method including: repeatedly transmitting, by a base station, a plurality of system-information blocks (SIBs) and content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs, using a contiguous physical allocation of six physical resource blocks (PRBs); accumulatively detecting, by the MTC terminal, the plurality of SIBs and the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs; detecting, by the MTC terminal, a plurality of change flags, each of the plurality of change flags representing a change of the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs; and until a change flag of the plurality of change flags represents a change of the content, reusing, by the MTC terminal, the content of the SIB associated with the change flag from among the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs.

  • Patent number: 10349342
Abstract: A method may include detecting multiple system-information block (SIB) blocks and associated content. The associated content may be stored. The method may further include detecting multiple change flags associated with the multiple SIB blocks, each of the multiple change flags associated with one of the multiple SIB blocks. In response to detecting a change flag having a first change flag value, content of the SIB block associated with the first change flag may be reused. The first change flag value may represent an absence of a change to the content of the SIB block associated with the first change flag. In response to detecting the change flag having a second change flag value, the SIB block associated with the second change flag may be detected and the associated content stored. The second change flag value may represent a change to the content of the associated SIB blocks.

  • Patent number: 10212573
Abstract: A method may include detecting a synchronization signal from a base station. The method may further include determining a synchronization detection probability based on the detection of the synchronization signal. The method may further include estimating a coverage deficit range based on the synchronization detection probability. The method may further include transmitting coverage deficit signaling configured to indicate the coverage deficit range estimated based on the synchronization detection probability.

  • Patent number: 8090329
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for selecting a set of antennas, for use during operation of a radio system, from a plurality of antennas. The system, method and apparatus may include selecting one antenna that is part of an array of antennas. Then measuring characteristics of radio signals received at the antenna. The selection and measuring of characteristic is repeated for a desired number of antennas in the array. Then, the measurements are combined, and the combinations of antennas are ranked based upon the combined measurement. From the ranking combinations of antennas are selected for use during operation of a radio system.
