  • Patent number: 10766452
Abstract: A self-locking seat belt retractor includes a blocking system for a seat belt winding shaft that is actuated in an at least vehicle-sensitive manner, in which, in the event of triggering, a sensor mass mounted in a vehicle-sensitive manner moves a locking lever with its engagement tip into a trigger position in engagement with the toothing of a control disk, as the result of which the control disk in its joint rotational motion with the belt winding shaft is stopped and the blocking system is activated. The sensor mass is situated in a support part on a contact surface, and when vehicle accelerations occur the sensor mass in the support part is movable on the contact surface by inertial control from a neutral position into the trigger position. The support part together with the sensor mass situated therein is situated in a housing that includes the control disk.

  • Patent number: 8967519
Abstract: A self-locking safety belt retractor has a blocking apparatus for a belt shaft mounted rotatably in a housing. The blocking apparatus includes a pawl inserted into a recess of the shaft front of the belt shaft which can be pivoted radially outward into engagement with the blocking apparatus. A blocking gearing (12) is oriented with respect to stop surfaces of the pawl (16) and to force transmission surfaces (25, 32) of the recess (15) such that, when the gear teeth of the pawl (16) are engaged in the blocking gearing (12) under normal load, a force acts between the blocking gearing (12) and the belt shaft (13) in a radial direction. If the load increases in a crash case, a force is transmitted in the circumferential direction due to plastic deformation of at least one housing gear tooth (28, 26) of the blocking gearing (12).

  • Patent number: 7484763
Abstract: The inventive device for fixing a seat belt winder is fixed to the part of a motor vehicle. The plate of the housing of the winder is provided with at lest one fixing hole for receiving a screw connection which maintains the vehicle part embodied therein. The housing of said seat belt winder is arranged in such a way that it is rotatable with respect to the fixing hole of the vehicle part, thereby enabling the winder to be automatically oriented in a direction of a force of a belt which moves at an angle with respect to the axis of the shaft. Said fixing device is characterised in that the housing (10) of the winder is rotationally maintained on the holder part (13, 19, 25) which can be firmly connected to the vehicle part (40).

  • Patent number: 5881962
Abstract: A rotary tightening device for a safety belt has a belt retractor including a housing and a belt take-up shaft rotatably supported in the housing. The belt-take-up shaft has one end of the safety belt connected thereto. Upon triggering of the rotary tightening device, the belt take-up shaft is rotated in a belt take-up direction of the safety belt. A drive wheel is connected to the shaft. The housing has a channel extending in a plane parallel to a radial plane of the drive wheel and extending at least partially about a circumference of the drive wheel. Mass bodies are positioned loosely adjacent to one another in the channel. The mass bodies, when accelerated, act on the drive wheel for driving it. The drive wheel has at the circumference a gearing in which the mass bodies are received for driving the drive wheel. A spacing of the gearing is substantially identical to a spacing between the mass bodies.

  • Patent number: 5522564
Abstract: A self-locking safety-belt reeling device has a reeling shaft on which a safety-belt is wound. A blocking device that is controlled by at least a vehicle-sensitive control mechanism and/or a safety-belt-sensitive control mechanism for blocking the safety-belt reeling shaft is provided. A tightening device acting on the reeling shaft comprises a tightener coupling. The tightening device further has a drive disk. The drive disk, upon activation of the tightening device, is driven in rotation by a drive device and coupled with the tightener coupling to the reeling shaft. A power limiter is connected to the safety-belt reeling device for limiting removal of the safety belt, whereby the power limiter is activated and deactivated depending on the operational states of the safety-belt reeling device and the tightening device. The power limiter during blocking of the safety belt reeling device is inactive and is activated only after completion of a tightening movement of the safety belt.

  • Patent number: 5050814
Abstract: Safety belt reeling means with a tightening device comprising a drive which is activated in the event of an incident is provided. The drive is spaced from a belt winding spindle of the belt reeling means and is connectable thereto via a coupling in the event of actuation of the drive. The coupling comprises a first coupling member which is mounted on a driven disc so as to be capable of movement, in the event of rotation of the disc, to engage with a second coupling member connected to the belt winding spindle, the driven disc being constructed as an inertia disc which is adapted to be set in rotation by the drive. Preferably the drive is a piston/cylinder unit which transmits a rotary motion to the inertia disc via a piston rod and a crank pin.

  • Patent number: 4618108
Abstract: A safety belt reel-in mechanism having a tensioning arrangement. A piston is provided which is acted upon by pressure medium, and which is disposed at a distance relative to the belt reeling-in shaft of the belt reel-in mechanism, and can by connected with this shaft via a cable drive when the tensioning arrangement is triggered. The problem of heretofore known devices was that after the tensioning arrangement was triggered and the tensioning process was terminated, the belt reeling-in shaft was locked into position via the tensioning arrangement, and hence could no longer function as intended. To eliminate the resulting drawback that, after the tensioning arrangement is triggered, the belt reel-in mechanism no longer has a self-locking action, the present invention proposes disposing a spring-loaded locking member on the cable pulley which receives the drive cable. The locking member is adapted to engage appropriate elements on the belt reeling-in shaft to operatively connect this shaft and the cable pulley.
