Abstract: A novel method to filter stormwater in existing and new facilities. The system is generally an insert or series of inserts which include lightweight aggregate (“LWA”) in a manner such that the aggregate is retained in the insert. The insert includes openings to allow water to flow into the insert and through the LWA such that contaminants are captured by the aggregate and removed from the water which exits the insert.
