  • Patent number: 6659940
Abstract: An endoscope having restricted dimensions and comprising at least one image gatherer, at least one image distorter and at least one image sensor shaped to fit within said limited dimensions, and wherein said image distorter is operable to distort an image received from said image gatherer so that the image is sensible at said shaped image sensor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 5, 2001
Date of Patent: December 9, 2003
    Assignee: C2Cure Inc.
    Inventor: Doron Adler
  • Publication number: 20020177779
Abstract: A system and method for detection of colorimetric abnormalities within a body lumen includes an image receiver for receiving images from within the body lumen. Also included are a transmitter for transmitting the images to a receiver, and a processor for generating a probability indication of presence of colorimetric abnormalities on comparison of color content of the images and at (east one reference value.

  • Publication number: 20020107444
Abstract: There is provided a method and system for calculating a size of an object in a gastrointestinal tract using images acquired by a moving imager. The method includes the steps of determining a distance traveled by the moving imager during capture of two of the images, calculating spatial coordinates of objects within the images using the distance, and calculating the size of an object from the spatial coordinates. The method and system may be used in the digestive tract with an endoscope or capsule.

  • Publication number: 20020068853
Abstract: An invasive imaging apparatus comprising: a flexible catheter with a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end being shaped for insertion into a blood vessel along a guide wire thereby to reach remote places in the vasculature or other organs, an optical assembly positioned at the distal end of the catheter comprising an image sensor positioned non-perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the catheter, at least one illumination source for illuminating an immediate region beyond the distal end of the catheter, and at least one working channel running from the proximal to the distal end of the catheter.
