  • Patent number: 11978963
Abstract: An antenna device includes a plurality of dipole antennas and a port. Each of the dipole antennas is connected to the port. The dipole antennas are arranged around the port. Each of the dipole antennas comprises two ends. The device further includes a plurality of passive elements. The ends of the dipole antennas and the passive elements are interchangeably arranged around the port such that each of the passive elements is situated between ends of two different antennas from the plurality of dipole antennas. One or more switches are configured to switch between an omnidirectional state, in which the ends of the dipole antennas are not connected to the plurality of passive elements, and a directional state, in which at least one end of one of the passive elements is connected to at least one end of one of the antennas.

  • Patent number: 11372984
Abstract: Embodiments of the present systems and methods may provide techniques to provide host side encryption while maintaining compression and deduplication benefits and providing communication between the host and the storage system that does not leak information about the data compressibility/deduplication properties. For example, in an embodiment, a method may comprise compressing, at a computer system, an original sector of data, generating a new sector of data including a first part including metadata and padding data, and a second part including the original sector of data that has been compressed and encrypted using a data encryption key (DEK), encrypting, at the computer system, the new sector of data using a data reduction key (DRK), and transmitting, at the computer system, the encrypted new sector of data to a storage system.

  • Patent number: 8072704
Abstract: A computer implemented method is disclosed, for energy-saving operation of a storage device with a read/write head. The method includes monitoring workload of the storage device, calculating current mean workload and adjusting seek speed of the read/write head of the storage device to one of a plurality seek speeds depending on the calculated current mean workload. The step of adjusting the seek speed of the read/write head includes adjusting the seek speed of the read/write head to be a first seek speed if the calculated current mean workload is below a first threshold, adjusting the seek speed of the read/write head to be a second seek speed if the calculated current mean workload is between the first threshold and a second threshold, and adjusting the seek speed of the read/write head to be the first seek speed if the calculated current mean workload is greater than the second threshold. A computer program product and a data processing system are also disclosed.
