Abstract: The present application relates to arenaviruses with rearrangements of their open reading frames (“ORF”) in their genomes. In particular, described herein is a modified arenavirus genomic segment, wherein the arenavirus genomic segment is engineered to carry a viral ORF in a position other than the wild-type position of the ORF. Also described herein are trisegmented arenavirus particles comprising one L segment and two S segments or two L segments and one S segment. The arenavirus, described herein may be suitable for vaccines and/or treatment of diseases and/or for the use in immunotherapies.

Abstract: Systems and methods for modulating the output of a difference frequency generator such as an OPO, OPA or OPG include a pump fiber laser having at least one internal, directly modulatible component, wherein the pump fiber laser produces a pump signal, and a difference frequency generator coupled to the pump fiber laser. The difference frequency generator is configured for accepting the pump signal of the pump fiber laser and producing an output signal, wherein parameters of the output signal are determined based on direct modulation of the internal, directly modulatible component of the pump fiber laser.

Abstract: A DIRCM (Direct IR Counter Measures) system includes a detection and warning apparatus for detecting a missile that might pose a threat on the platform to which said system is allocated, and for generating a warning of its existence. The warning may include data that enable the calculation of the expected direction from which the missile is approaching. The DIRCM system may also include an acquisition device for performing acquisition of the approaching missile in accordance with the data provided by the detection and warning apparatus, and issuing data that may enable the calculation in real time of the updated position of the missile, a fiber laser for generating a laser beam, and a motion and aiming enabled turret, coupled with the laser, for directing the laser beam onto the approaching missile.

Abstract: A mobile visual display system including one or more vehicles, and equipped with an external display panel and an internal display panel, capable of delivering changeable messages e.g., LED, liquid crystal, etc., and a programmable on-board controller CPU, which drives the display panels to provide a viewable message. The controller CPU ascertains that the vehicle is within a predefined geographic zone, which can be customized for each message and drives external display to generate a message selected for public viewing. The message is displayed on external display, pursuant to a schedule stored on a database, which includes date, time of day and display duration while the vehicle is within the zone or until the vehicle is located in another zone which is not within the message schedule.
