  • Patent number: 7955265
Abstract: Methods, apparatus and systems for measuring a thickness of a portion of a multi-layer vessel based on at least one medical diagnostic image frame using an integrated ultrasound device is provided. The method includes for each x-coordinate determining a y-coordinate along an interface between each layer of the vessel including determining a Y coordinate of a center of an intima-media center (IMC) determining the adventitia-media interface Y coordinate, determining the intima-lumen interface Y coordinate, determining for each X coordinate the lumen-intima interface Y coordinate, determining media-adventitia interface Y coordinate, determining a thickness of at least one vessel layer using X and Y coordinates of respective layer interfaces, and outputting the thickness to a display.

  • Publication number: 20080267467
Abstract: A method and system for automatic adjustment of a diagnostic imaging display are provided. The system includes an acquisition component configured to acquire image data and a display configured to display the acquired image data. The diagnostic imaging system further includes an ambient light detector configured to detect an ambient light level and a display adjustment module configured to automatically adjust a display transfer function for the display based on the detected ambient light level.

  • Publication number: 20080269610
Abstract: An ultrasonic probe has transducer elements for transmitting and receiving ultrasound signals to form an ultrasound image. An optimization module receives a first scanning depth based on the ultrasound image and determines a first transmit pattern and receive filter settings based on the first scanning depth. The first transmit pattern and the receive filter settings are used to acquire the ultrasound image.

  • Publication number: 20050267365
Abstract: A method for measuring an anatomic structure based on at least one medical diagnostic image frame using an integrated ultrasound device is provided. The image frame includes a first axis that is substantially parallel to an intima-media and a second axis that is perpendicular to the first axis. The method includes identifying a first interface of the anatomic structure based on an intensity of the interface in an image frame, for a plurality of points on the first interface, identifying a corresponding point on a second interface of the anatomic structure using a predetermined threshold based on the intensity of the first interface, determining a distance difference between points of the first interface and a corresponding point of the second interface, and outputting at least one of the determined distance difference and the at least one image frame to a display.

  • Patent number: 6638223
Abstract: A method for providing operator control over a medical diagnostic device includes the steps of assigning each device function in a preselected device function set that implements a preselected medical diagnostic device to at least one function activation area on an image display. Subsequently, the method monitors a touchscreen for a touch, and determines a selected activation area based on the touch and the function activation area. Once the selected activation area is determined, the method performs a device function associated with the selected activation area.
