  • Patent number: 7005099
Abstract: An interior trim component is formed utilizing an injection molding apparatus having first and second molds. The component includes a laminate and a polymer. The laminate includes a face layer having a finished and unfinished side, an adhesive layer bonded to the unfinished side, and a barrier bonded to the adhesive layer. The barrier includes a non-woven textile weighing at least 80 g/m2. The laminate is positioned in the first mold such that the barrier is exposed to face the second mold. The apparatus is moved into a closed position and a cavity is established between the barrier and the second mold. The polymer is injected into the cavity at a pressure of at least 500 psi. The polymer reacts with the barrier to bond the laminate to the polymer and to form the interior trim component without the polymer penetrating through the barrier and into the face layer.

  • Publication number: 20030225650
Abstract: A web based method for the configuration of and maintaining assets from web pages or a web based shopping cart during the procurement process. When an individual is purchasing a product or intends to purchase a product the web based method allows the user to perform critical steps in the asset management process. The web based method allows users to implement and maintain the components of assets during the procurement process. The information that the user inputs during the shopping process is captured and placed in a common database that may be SQL based. This captured information can later be modified via web pages. Existing assets can be upgraded using our web-based method during the procurement process.

  • Patent number: 6390304
Abstract: A filter media system, which is capable of operating in the microfiltration regime, offers: low cost, durability, high temperature and chemical resistance, no particulation, mechanical strength, separation efficiency, and biocompatibility. The present invention provides a filter media system comprising a fibrous substrate of at least one of carbon and ceramic fibers, wherein an array of carbon or ceramic fiber whiskers have been grown onto the fibrous substrate, without prior densification of the fibrous substrate. A process for manufacturing a filter media system wherein a carbon fiber is treated with a solution of metal catalyst salt, heated in hydrogen at elevated temperatures to reduce the metal salt to metal, and whisker growth is initiated on the surfaces of the metal deposited carbon fibers by decomposition of low molecular weight hydrocarbon gas at elevated temperature is also provided.
