Abstract: A shade canopy tensioning assembly for keeping the fabric of a shade canopy (which includes umbrellas and other shade structures) taut, allowing the shade canopy to maintain its intended appearance, better withstand the elements, and ensure adequate shade provision. The assembly has distinct adjustment assemblies, coupled with at least one length manipulating rod and at least one threaded adjustment nut. These components can work together to tighten or loosen the fabric of a shade canopy when the fabric is attached to the assembly. Also, these components can be seamlessly integrated into shade canopy designs, allowing such designs to maintain their intended aesthetics. Further, these components allow the assembly to be easily adjusted, allowing the fabric of a shade canopy to be tightened or loosened with ease.

Abstract: An indirect lighting assembly for a shade structure including a lighting assembly, preferably in the form of an LED array, mounted on a hub of the shade structure and movable therewith concurrent to opening and closing of a canopy of the shade structure. The illumination source is disposed on an inner end of the hub and oriented to direct illumination outwardly therefrom onto an interior surface of the canopy. A control assembly is operatively connected to the lighting assembly in current regulating relation to LED array and comprises touch control switching operative to regulate current flow thereto. The touch control switching includes a touch control member connected to the hub and movable therewith into an overhead, access restricting position concurrent to disposition of the canopy in an open orientation.

Abstract: A crank handle positioning assembly structured to selectively position a mast mounted canopy of an umbrella into and between open and closed orientations. A gear housing is disposed within the interior of the mast in at least partially enclosing relation to a gear assembly and in driving relation to at least one elongated drive gear. A crank handle is disposed on an exterior of the mast and extends there-through into rotationally driving relation to the gear assembly. A rider member is interconnected in driving relation to the canopy assembly and is reciprocally movable along the length of the drive gear upon rotational, driving engagement of the crank handle with the gear assembly. Concurrent, cooperative directions of linear movement of the rider member and a rotational movement of the crank handle is determinative of the positioning of the canopy assembly in either the open or closed orientations.

Abstract: An umbrella frame structured for use in a strong wind conditions such as those conditions frequently encountered on a boat traveling at relatively high speeds. An umbrella frame assembly includes a reinforcing assembly connected thereto in a supportive, operative orientation thereby providing a stable support for an umbrella canopy which can remain open even during travel of the boat. The frame assembly can be modified to support canopies of varying shapes and sizes and the frame assembly can be easily removed, for storage purposes, from a supporting base which may be mounted on or connected to a boat.

The decorative pattern is defined by a plurality of substantially equivalent, successively disposed pattern segments, wherein adjacent ones of such pattern segments are inverted relative to one another. The canopy sections used to construct the final product of the umbrella canopy are formed by extending each of a plurality of bias cuts along the entire width of the sheet of canopy material and at predetermined angular orientations to a central longitudinal axis of the sheet.
