  • Publication number: 20240097939
Abstract: In accordance with a designation of a private alias endpoint as a routing target for traffic directed to a service from within an isolated virtual network of a provider network, a tunneling intermediary receives a baseline packet generated at a compute instance. The baseline packet indicates a public IP (Internet Protocol) address of the service as the destination, and a private IP address of the compute instance as the source. In accordance with a tunneling protocol, the tunneling intermediary generates an encapsulation packet comprising at least a portion of the baseline packet and a header indicating the isolated virtual network. The encapsulation packet is transmitted to a node of the service.

  • Publication number: 20240070013
Abstract: Systems and methods for are provided for predicting impending failure of a database and preemptively initiating mitigating failover actions, for example by shedding connections or redirecting connection requests to an alternate database that can fulfill resources being requested. In an example embodiment, to detect a slow or unstable database, connection wait times are monitored over a rolling window of time intervals, a quantity of intervals in which at least one excessive wait time event occurred are counted during the time window, and if the quantity exceeds a threshold, the database is deemed unavailable, thereby triggering connection adjustments.

  • Patent number: 11913562
Abstract: In an implementation, a hydraulic valve includes a valve body, a cylindrical chamber within the valve body, and a cylindrical spool within the chamber. The spool is rotatable between at least a first position and a second position about a longitudinal axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of the chamber. The spool includes a landing and an eccentric channel that extends around a portion of an outer circumferential surface of the landing. In the first position, an inlet and an outlet of the hydraulic valve are fluidly coupled by the eccentric channel to allow a flow of a hydraulic fluid circumferentially around the landing from the inlet to the outlet. In the second position, the inlet and/or the outlet are obstructed by another portion of the outer circumferential surface of the landing to prevent the flow of the hydraulic fluid from the inlet to the outlet.

  • Patent number: 11814239
Abstract: A method of warming food dispensable from an aerosol dispenser. The aerosol dispenser is made from materials which can go into a single recycling stream having a single class of materials, as defined by the Society of the Plastics Industry, and particularly may exclusively comprise Class 1 materials suitable for eating in a microwave oven. Consumer products, such as food, contained in the aerosol dispenser may be heated in a microwave oven prior to dispensing. Upon dispensing, food retains residual heat, and is suitable for eating or further cooking. Other heated products in the aerosol dispenser may be comfortably applied to the skin, used as air freshener, used for cleaning, etc. The aerosol dispenser may have indicia indicating the aerosol dispenser is suitable for microwave heating. The aerosol dispenser can have indicia indicating the aerosol dispenser is suitable for heating in a microwave oven. Abstract: A hubless sheave system for supporting ropes, wires, and other suspended loads is described. The system can include an inner bearing race and an outer bearing race. The inner bearing race can be affixed to one or more support arms via a mounting bracket. The support arms can be detachably coupled to a support (e.g., a power pole, building, or other structure) to support the system and the suspended load. The outer race can be rotatably coupled to the inner race on a bearing surface, enabling the outer race to rotate freely about the inner race. The outer race can include a sheave groove sized and shaped to support a wire or rope during installation. The system can be used to string and temporarily support power or communications lines during installation, or “stringing,” and then removed when permanent supports are installed.
