Abstract: The illustrative embodiments described herein are directed to apparatuses, systems, and methods for applying reduced pressure to a subcutaneous tissue site. In one illustrative embodiment, the apparatus includes a membrane having a substantially uniform membrane wall thickness and a first, tissue-facing surface. The membrane may be shaped to form a plurality of protrusions on the tissue-facing surface. The plurality of protrusions at least partially defines at least one channel operable to transfer the reduced pressure along the tissue-facing surface.

Abstract: The illustrative embodiments described herein are directed to a system, method, and apparatus for applying a reduced pressure to a subcutaneous tissue site. The apparatus includes a manifold that is adapted to be inserted for placement at the subcutaneous tissue site. The manifold may include at least one purging lumen operable to deliver a fluid to a distal portion of the manifold. The manifold may also include at least one slit at the distal portion of the manifold. The manifold may include at least one reduced-pressure lumen operable to deliver reduced pressure to the subcutaneous tissue site via the at least one slit. In one example, the manifold also includes an interlumen channel fluidly interconnecting the at least one purging lumen, the at least one reduced-pressure lumen, and the at least one slit at the distal portion of the manifold.
