  • Publication number: 20230286352
Abstract: An air handling system of a vehicle comprises a housing defining an inlet section. The inlet section includes a first inlet portion and a second inlet portion. The first inlet portion includes a first recirculation inlet configured to receive recirculated air originating from a passenger compartment of the vehicle and a first ambient air inlet configured to receive ambient air originating from an ambient environment. The second inlet portion includes a second recirculation inlet configured to receive recirculated air originating from the passenger compartment of the vehicle and a second ambient air inlet configured to receive the ambient air originating from the ambient environment. A first air distribution door and a first baffle door are disposed in the inlet section to selectively control a distribution of the recirculated air and the ambient air entering the first inlet portion.

  • Patent number: 10688970
Abstract: An air-handling system for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system of a vehicle includes a main housing comprising a conditioning section, a mixing section, and a delivery section having a flow of air passing therethrough. The delivery section includes a conduit branching into a windshield defrost pathway and a demist pathway, the windshield defrost pathway leading to windshield defrost vents of a passenger compartment of the vehicle and the demist pathway leading to side window defrost vents of the passenger compartment. A control door rotatably disposed in the conduit is adjustable through a range of rotational positions wherein a flow area through the windshield defrost pathway is variably restricted while the demist pathway remains unobstructed. The control door is further adjustable to a position wherein the windshield defrost pathway and the demist pathway are closed.

  • Publication number: 20060214530
Abstract: A conformable layer (14) for inhibiting electrical discharge between vent tubes (16) and strands (12) in an inner-cooled coil (5). The conformable layer comprises a resistive inner core (24) and a conductive strip (20) wrapped in a conductive outer wrap (26). The conductive strip (20) is electrically connected to the strands (12) at one end of the coil (5) and left to electrically float at the other end. In this configuration, the conformable layer (14) reduces voltage buildup between the vent tubes (16) and the strands (12) to help prevent electrical damage to the coil (5).

  • Publication number: 20050202235
Abstract: The present invention provides for thin sheet wedges that comprise a mica matrix impregnated with a conductive resin. The mica matrix is composed of mica flakes. The thin sheet wedge has a semi-conductive property of 500-500,000 ohms per square. In one embodiment the thin sheet wedge further comprises at least one glass fiber layer. In a particular embodiment the glass fiber layer is a backing for the mica matrix. In another particular embodiment the glass fiber is interwoven with the mica matrix. The glass fiber layer may itself be impregnated with a conductive resin.
