Publication number: 20240095846Abstract: A shared ledger operated by a group of network participants according to a set of consensus rules manages and resolves subrogation claims between a clamant and a defendant with arbitration. Evidence regarding the value of the subrogation claim is sent to the shared ledger by the parties to the subrogation claim such as sending data to a smart contract deployed on the shared ledger. The parties to the subrogation claim or entities that are not parties to the subrogation claim may broadcast data relating to fault to the blockchain. The data relating to fault may be evaluated by the parties or entities acting on the parties' behalf to determine fault. A fault determination may be broadcast to the blockchain based upon the analysis of the data relating to fault. Once the claim is resolved, arbitrator may release funds on the chain to the prevailing party or may accept confirmation that any payments have been made between the parties off-chain.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Shawn M. Patent number: 6214824Abstract: Use of the proprietary drug amiloride for the treatment of cancer types that depend on an enzymatic cascade triggered by the activation of plasminogen to plasmin by the specific activating enzyme Urokinase Plasminogen Activator (uPA). Administration of amiloride inhibits the action of uPA, inhibits the ability of the cancer cell to attract new blood supply, blocks the Na+/H+ transporter, and inhibits ornithine decarboxylase necessary for DNA synthesis. Further, in combination with amiloride, a different step in the enzymatic cascade is targeted by a secondary agent, Batimistat, for example, which is a metalloprotease inhibitor. Additionally, the use of hydrochlorothiazide promotes excretion of potassium.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1999Date of Patent: April 10, 2001Inventors: Douglas McCullough Evans, Kimberly Denise Sloan-Stakleff

Patent number: 6197886Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions containing impact copolymer compositions that are a blend of a propylene polymer phase and a rubber phase in which the ethylene content of the rubber phase is between about 75 to about 95% by weight. The rubber content of the impact copolymer composition ranges between about 35% by weight to about 60% by weight. The crystallinity of the high ethylene-content rubber phase provides overall improvement in film properties and also balance of film tensile properties in the machine and transverse directions. Compared to traditional impact copolymer compositions having a low ethylene content-rubber phase, the inventive copolymers have significantly enhanced melting and crystallization peaks due to polyethylene-like crystallinity in the rubber phase.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1997Date of Patent: March 6, 2001Assignee: Union Carbide Chemicals & Plastics Technology CorporationInventors: Ananda Mohan Chatterjee, James Douglas McCullough, Jr.

Patent number: 5546139Abstract: A projection system for projecting computergraphic images onto a domed or spherical viewing surface. An intense beam of coherent light is color and intensity modulated and deflected in a pair of cartesian axes prior to being projected through a wide angle lens array. Because the light beam is deflected before entering the wide angle lens array, greater angles of deflection are possible. The images are generated by rapidly changing the deflection of an intense spot of light which is projected onto the viewing surface at a rate above the viewer's flicker rate. This wide angle lens array may include a scan flattening lens array by which the image can be focused onto a spatial image focal plane before it is projected through a wide angle lens.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1993Date of Patent: August 13, 1996Inventors: Aron Bacs, Jr., Ward H. Davis, Douglas A. McCullough
