  • Publication number: 20130271969
Abstract: An apparatus for providing instant lighting to a fountain nozzle without using an external power source, where the apparatus includes a generator that generates an AC voltage from the rotation of an impeller being impacted by the flow of water through the fountain water supply source. The generated voltage is rectified and powers an array of LED bulbs where the bulbs are lighted in sequence by way of a controller circuit.

  • Patent number: 6685339
Abstract: The specification and drawings describe and show one embodiment of the present invention in the form of a sparkle light bulb with a plurality of different colored LED bulbs controlled by a circuit that selectively operates the LED bulbs in color wash mode or color dance mode. The controller circuit also has memory for further selectively locking the LED bulbs in a desired color pattern. The sparkle light housing has guides for aligning and guiding the lamp bulb into a multi-pin receptacle. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope of meaning of the claims. 37 CFR 1.72(b).

  • Publication number: 20030139078
Abstract: The specification and drawings describe and show one embodiment of the present invention in the form an adapter having a multi-pin connector for connecting a light bulb with a corresponding multi-pin plug to the corresponding multi-pin connector; and a screw-type base portion in electrical communication with the multi-pin connector, the screw-type base portion for connecting into a screw type lamp socket. Ridges are added to facilitate the alignment of an inserted bulb into the adapter. The adapter is preferably made essentially of an integral molded composite material.

  • Patent number: 6196471
Abstract: An apparatus for creating a multi-colored illuminated waterfall includes a waterfall vessel, a clear tube disposed within the vessel, LED bulbs mounted on a circuit board strip which is disposed within the clear tube and a controller circuit which sequentially activates predetermined arrays of different colored LED bulbs. The waterfall vessel has baffles for suppressing turbulence and optional reflective film for enhancing emitted light. A controller circuit is included to sequentially light predetermined arrays of different colored LED bulbs. A rectifier circuit is included to convert a 12 volt ac circuit to a 12 volt dc circuit and a transformer reduces a 110 volt ac power source to a 12 volt ac supply. In an embodiment for a water fountain, the circuit board strip with the LED bulbs are instead disposed within a branch of a tee with a clear lens separating the LED bulbs from the water flow portion of the tee.

  • Patent number: 6184628
Abstract: A multicolor LED lamp bulb includes a hollow lamp body which has a substantially tapered intermediate portion, a longitudinal portion and a stem portion, a lens sealingly engaged with the longitudinal portion, a plurality of different colored LED bulbs mounted in a predetermined spaced-apart arrangement on a circuit board wafer mounted inside the lamp body in an orientation normal to the central axis of the lamp body, a controller circuit electrically connected wherein predetermined arrays of the plurality of different colored LED bulbs activate at predetermined sequences for predetermined time intervals, and a screw-type base affixed to the stem portion and adapted to engage a conventional lamp socket. The controller circuit includes a rectifier circuit for converting a 12 volt-ac source applied to the LED lamp bulb to a 12 volt-dc circuit for supplying electrical power to the arrays of the plurality of different colored LED bulbs.

  • Patent number: 6132056
Abstract: An apparatus for creating an illuminated waterfall comprising a waterfall vessel, the vessel including a front wall, a pack wall, side ends with apertures, a top wall and a bottom wall; the vessel further including a plurality of baffles and/or combinations of baffles with apertures therein for converting turbulent flow to a waterfall stream at an exit to the vessel; and means for illuminating the waterfall. The means for illuminating the waterfall includes a clear rod or a side-light emitting fiber optic cable installed longitudinally within the vessel with a fiber optic light source juxtaposed to one end of the clear rod or cable. The clear rod or the cable may be installed within a clear tube as an alternative embodiment.

  • Patent number: 5738280
Abstract: A waterfall-producing device includes an elongate housing having an "T" -shaped or "X" -shaped turbulence suppressor positioned within the housing. Water under pressure is introduced into the center of the housing and is constrained to divide into two counterflowing streams that flow to the opposite ends of the housing. The turbulence suppressor divides the interior of the housing into a rearward chamber, a lower chamber, a forward chamber, and an upper chamber. Openings are formed in preselected walls of the turbulence suppressor and are spaced and sized so that the rearward chamber fills first, followed by the lower chamber, forward chamber and upper chamber in sequence. Water escapes the upper chamber through a space between an interior top wall and a rear wall of the housing and then flows to a discharge opening that covers an area substantially equal to the collective areas of the openings formed in each of the turbulence suppressor walls.

  • Patent number: 5249744
Abstract: A natural waterfall is simulated by introducing water into an inlet box that includes a spreader for dividing the incoming stream into two laterally flowing streams that are reflected off the sidewalls of the inlet box and which collide against each other to suppress the turbulence of the incoming stream in the absence of baffle walls. The inlet box has an outlet in open communication with an outlet box through which the water flows to create the waterfall. In a second embodiment, an open-faced structure includes a back wall, side walls, and a bottom wall, and the waterfall apparatus is positioned against the back wall so that its outlet faces the open front end of the structure. Rocks are then added to fill the structure. The walls of the structure constrain the water to flow down the face of the rocks. This enables a rock waterfall to be built by inexperienced personnel.
