  • Publication number: 20230191841
Abstract: A tire includes a tread, a crown reinforcement, a carcass reinforcement with at least one ply wound about a pair of bead cores and through two sidewalls of the tire, and a cut/puncture resistant sidewall layer disposed adjacent a part of the carcass reinforcement within one of the sidewalls, the cut/puncture sidewall layer being formed of a plurality of cords, each cord including one nylon cord having S 4-8 tpi (twists per inch), one aramid cord having Z 4-8 tpi, and the nylon cord and the aramid cord being twisted together with S 3-7 tpi.

  • Publication number: 20150020944
Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes a pair of axially spaced apart annular bead cores, each bead core comprising a plurality of metal wraps, each bead core having a radial cross-sectional shape; and a single carcass ply reinforced with polyester cords, the single carcass ply being folded about each bead core, the carcass ply having a main portion that extends between the bead cores and turnup portions that are folded around the bead cores, the polyester cords having a construction of 2000-2000 dtex/½ 8-10/8-10 tpi and 20-30 epi.

  • Publication number: 20110259488
Abstract: A pneumatic tire for a vehicle includes a carcass reinforced by a carcass ply. The carcass ply enables transmission of a static electrical charge from the vehicle to ground. The pneumatic further includes at least one belt ply disposed radially outward of the carcass ply in a crown portion of the pneumatic tire. The carcass ply includes at least one composite cord having at least one first yarn with at least one second electrically conductive filament wrapped together with the first yarn such that the first yarn has a modulus less than a modulus of the second electrically conductive filament.

  • Patent number: 7891391
Abstract: The invention relates to a tire having a lug and groove configured rubber tread having an outer rubber cap layer with a running surface and an underlying specialized transition rubber layer. The transition rubber layer is specialized in a sense of containing at least one of partially depolymerized rubber, particulate pre-cured rubber and coal dust. The outer tread cap layer is comprised of ground-contacting tread lugs with the tread running surface and associated tread grooves positioned between said tread lugs. The tread grooves may extend radially inward through the outer tread cap layer and, optionally, into the transition tread layer. The rubber tread configuration may also optionally also include a tread base rubber layer underlying the transition rubber layer.
