Abstract: An Internet-oriented advertising exchange controller presents website content in a plurality of frames as well as support search criteria and other flexible forms of inventory formatting and delivery. Applications include Internet protocol request coordination or relay, cooperative frame based or interstitial advertising, and support for a local search or dataless metasearch system. The controller operates in a cookieless environment, has logic to protect advertiser's investment from AutoSurf equivalent systems, and protects against other inappropriate stimuli including denial of service or IP blast attacks. As such, an advertiser's credits are affected only by human stimuli. Communication with and among exchange controllers for sharing or delivering information about inventory occurs by a number of protocols with optional encryption.

Abstract: Advertising is displayed in conjunction with web pages and other HTML-rendered information by splitting a display area into frames, so that requested content appears in one frame and one or more advertisements appear in other frames, respectively. By displaying advertisements in frames that are at the same logical layer as the web pages that induced the advertising, the functionality of the presentation resides in native HTML code, making it much more difficult to block the advertisement. An exchange server provides frame generation data to the HTML-rendering device. The device can directly obtain requested content and associated advertisements from respective domains, or the data can be indirectly provided through the exchange server.

Abstract: A multinode traffic architecture and network for the exchange of internet advertising traffic includes independent Internet advertising exchanges that interact to exchange various forms of advertising by requesting ads and/or fulfilling, directly or indirectly, responses to ad requests. Each node contains subroutines and interface ports that can be set up to communicate with other nodes, or cooperative third party Internet exchanges, allowing the sharing of advertising inventory and other information related to the exchange and advertisers needs for properly and ethically displaying their websites.
