  • Publication number: 20120170408
Abstract: Systems and methods for seismic data acquisition utilizing wireless modules to perform real time data read out. The wireless modules may be assigned a shared multiplexing sequence through which each module advances in successive transmission periods. Wireless modules belonging to a shared collision domain may be operated out of phase from one another with respect to the shared multiplexing signature sequence. As such, a dynamic multiplexing regime may be implemented. The shared multiplexing signature sequence may include, among others, a plurality of different frequencies, a plurality of different codes, or a plurality of different discrete time periods.

  • Publication number: 20120008460
Abstract: Data acquisition modules and systems including batteries with integrated data storage. The battery with integrated data storage can be selectively removed from the data acquisition module. This allows for reduced logistical effort associated with data retrieval and battery charging. For instance, the entire data acquisition module need not be transported to a central location for data recovery and charging, but rather the removable battery with integrated storage may be removed and transported. Also facilitated is extended surveys in that the battery or storage module may be replaced, such that survey design limitations such as storage capacity or battery life may be eliminated.

  • Publication number: 20110110193
Abstract: Systems and methods for seismic data acquisition employing a dynamic multiplexing technique. The dynamic multiplexing technique may include advancing one or more modules in a seismic array through a multiplexing signature sequence in successive transmission periods. The multiplexing signature sequence may be random or pseudo-random. A shared multiplexing signature sequence may be used at all the modules in the seismic array. As such, modules belonging to a common collision domain may operate out of phase with respect to the shared multiplexing signature sequence.

  • Patent number: 4736299
Abstract: A reflection seismograph collects data received over a plurality of channels in a field location and provides data recorded on a recording medium for processing at a home data processing site in accordance with well-known algorithms. Data is collected over a plurality of channels and converted into a recordable form. In accordance with the present invention, the data is not coupled directly to recording means but is stored. Stored data is processed by a post acquisition processor so that a field operator may preview data to make a determination as to whether the data inputs are suitable to provide a desired result when processed at the home location. The operation may then actuate a means for recording the data onto the recording medium.
