  • Patent number: 7433893
Abstract: A system and method of compression indexing and efficient proximity search of text data permits high speed search featuring ranking the relevance of search results according to closeness of desired terms within each portion of text found. The system includes (a) preparing target text, (b) creating a “compression index ebook”, (c) browsing in a compression index ebook, and (d) searching in a compression index ebook. To create the compression index, the method includes the steps of selecting target text, identifying tokens, such as words and punctuation strings, wherein each of the tokens has a frequency. The frequencies of each token are counted. Tokens are ranked from highest frequency to lowest frequency. The frequencies are compressed. The next step is assigning positions to each token frequency and compressing the positions to form a compression index ebook, which is stored in random access memory to eliminate disk seeks during browsing and searching.

  • Patent number: 7040642
Abstract: Covers for a grip ring of a wheel chair are disclosed. According to certain embodiments of the invention, a two-piece cover is provided. The two-piece cover includes a soft, resilient inner pad and an outer sleeve enclosing the inner pad. According to other embodiments of the invention, a one-piece cover is disclosed. The one-piece cover includes a soft, resilient inner pad and an outer layer permanently attached to the inner pad. Both the one-piece and two-piece covers can be easily removed from or installed on the grip ring. The covers according to the present invention fit securely over wheelchair grip rings, providing a cushioned, enlarged gripping area for the wheelchair user. The covers improve the performance, feel and safety of grip rings.

  • Patent number: 6757699
Abstract: A system and method for privatizing computer data involves the steps of opening a plurality of original data files, fragmenting said original data files into fragments, and interspersing said fragments among each other forming composite files (privacy protected files). The method then includes the steps of creating a reconstitution file, which identifies hidden dispersion locations and placement of individual fragments to reconstruct the original data files. Finally, the composite files are dispersed to hidden locations. To enhance security, each fragment may be disguised through a multiplicity of high speed mathematical operations, which are directed by a fragment handling guide drawn from a random table, before interspersing fragments in the composite files.
