    Abstract: Conventional internet routing is handled using routing protocols such as the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). However, simple BGP does not account for latency, packet loss, or cost. To address this problem, smart routing systems that route traffic fast and in a cost-effective manner are implemented. In one approach, smart routing systems measure, compare, and analyze round-trip latencies and other metrics between a customer premises and one or more endpoints. Optimal inbound and outbound transit providers are selected for each endpoint based on these measurements. Other smart routing systems collect and analyze Real User Monitoring (RUM) data to predict latency performance of different content origins for serving data to a particular client based on the client's IP address and the content origins' IP addresses, which are ranked by performance.

    Abstract: To manage complexity related to messages and comments about collaboratively edited electronic documents, an electronic document has associated activity data and comment data, where a type of activity data includes messages among users. Message data is stored in a stream of activity data in a format that is accessible both to communication applications outside of the electronic document, and to end user applications for editing the electronic document. The message data can include a document identifier, a user identifier for a sender and/or a receiver, and content of the message. A communication application, given a user identifier, can access document messages for that user, from a single electronic document or over multiple electronic documents. Further, the communication application can be notified when new document messages related to a user identifier are added to one or more electronic documents.

In the data structure, a first node is associated with one or more child nodes, wherein the user inquiry text of the first node has one or more option values, each option value is included respectively in the option hook of the child nodes. The inquiry hook of at least one of the multiple nodes includes an end point hook, which corresponds to one or more of the following recommendation actions: recommending a carrier, manual submission, and declining coverage. The recommender system may traverse the recommender data structure to retrieve recommendation action(s) to the user.

    Abstract: A stab (pin and sleeve) electrical connector with improved safety is described. The female (sleeve) connector exterior surface is coated or made from with a nonconductive insulating material. A pressure loaded insulator plug is disposed inside the female sleeve. An electrical connection is made when the male (pin) connector is inserted into the female sleeve. The male pin contacts the insulator plug inside the female sleeve, causing compression, and makes electrical contact with the uninsulated inside of the sleeve. As the male pin is removed, the pressure mechanism of the insulator plug pushes the plug out flush with the external insulated surface making the female sleeve touch safe. Therefore, embodiments provide a high level of safety for the pin and sleeve electrical connection method without adding large or troublesome moving parts.

    Abstract: A repeatable manufacturing process uses a printer to deposits liquid for each product carried by a substrate to form respective thin films. The liquid is dried, cured or otherwise processed to form from the liquid a permanent layer of each respective product. To perform printing, each newly-introduced substrate is roughly mechanically aligned, with an optical system detecting sub-millimeter misalignment, and with software correcting for misalignment. Rendering of adjusted data is performed such that nozzles are variously assigned dependent on misalignment to deposit droplets in a regulated manner, to ensure precise deposition of liquid for each given area of the substrate. For example, applied to the manufacture of flat panel displays, software ensures that exactly the right amount of liquid is deposited for each “pixel” of the display, to minimize likelihood of visible discrepancies in the resultant display.
