    Abstract: A precipitation gauge for collecting solid and liquid precipitation is provided. The gauge provides a container within which is disposed a liquid, the liquid is in contact with a collection surface extending at least partially above the container in order to expose the collection surface to the precipitation. A transfer system is provided to transfer the collected precipitation from the collection surface to the liquid. The arrangement provides for an accurate measurement of the collected precipitation.
