  • Patent number: 11798272
Abstract: An activity assistance system includes a video camera arranged to acquire video of a person performing an activity, an output device configured to output human-perceptible prompts, and an electronic processor programmed to execute an activity script. The script comprises a sequence of steps choreographing the activity. The execution of each step includes presenting a prompt via the output device and detecting an event or sequence of events subsequent to the presenting of the prompt. Each event is detected by performing object detection on the video to detect one or more objects depicted in the video and applying one or more object-oriented image analysis functions to detect a spatial or temporal arrangement of one or more of the detected objects. Each event detection triggers an action comprising at least one of presenting a prompt via the output device and and/or going to another step of the activity script.

  • Publication number: 20070297560
Abstract: In accordance with certain embodiments a method and system to analyze the content of a packed bag utilizing a scanner is provided. The bag is scanned for a scannable characteristic to acquire scan data representative of a content of the piece of baggage. A volumetric data set is generated from the scan data, wherein the volumetric data set includes voxel values of the scannable characteristic throughout a volume of interest in the baggage. A rendered view is produced of the content of the piece of baggage based on the voxel values within a selected range from the volumetric data set. The method and system also provide identifying a threat by analyzing Hounsfield Units of the material of interest.

  • Publication number: 20070123829
Abstract: A medication injector apparatus such as an injection pen. The injection pen includes a resettable, cartridge plunger drive assembly including an axially floating nut, a cartridge plunger engaging screw, and a drive clutch movable with the nut and which when rotated causes the screw to screw through the nut. When a cartridge assembly is mounted to the pen base, the floating nut and drive clutch are shifted proximally such that the drive clutch is in torque transmitting engagement with a rotatable drive member of the pen, such that rotation of that drive member results in drive screw advancement through the nut in the distal direction. When the cartridge assembly is not mounted to the pen base, the floating nut and drive clutch are biased distally to disengage the drive clutch from torque transmitting engagement with the rotatable drive member and to thereby allow the drive screw to be reset proximally through the nut to a position more retracted within the pen base.

  • Publication number: 20060248743
Abstract: A tubing counter for counting coiled tubing inserted into a well includes an outer housing having a through passage for receiving the coiled tubing therethrough. In some embodiments, pressure rated connectors at both of the ends of the outer housing sealably connect the outer housing in series between the coiled tubing injector head and the outer casing of the well. A plurality of counting wheels are rotatably supported within the outer housing for rolling engagement along coiled tubing inserted through the outer housing while a counting mechanism records a number of rotations of each counting wheel independently of the other wheels to minimize counting errors. Locating the counter below the injector head and below the tubing stripper ensures that the tubing is cleaner and less likely to slip in contact with the counting wheels while also accounting for stretching of the tubing for more accurate measurement.
