Patent number: 12277040Abstract: In-place recovery of fatal system errors at virtualization hosts. A device identifies an occurrence of a fatal system error in the first instance of a host operating system (OS) executing in a computer system. The device determines to perform an in-place recovery for the fatal system error. The device performs the in-place recovery, including pausing the execution of a virtual machine (VM) by the first instance of the host OS, preserving a state of the VM within system memory of the computer system, and resuming the execution of the VM by a second instance of the host OS executing in the computer system based on the state of the VM that is preserved within the system memory of the computer system.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2023Date of Patent: April 15, 2025Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Binit Ranjan Mishra, Mukhtar Ahmed, Christina Marianne Curlette, Steven Adrian West, Gaurav Jagtiani, Naga Kiran Govindaraju, James George Cavalaris, Drew Douglas Cross, Jason Stewart Wohlgemuth, James Anthony Schwartz, Jr., Jennifer Marie Bourlier, Sri Harsha Kanukuntla, Emma Sutherland Boyd, Scott Chao-Chueh Lee, Vijaybalaji Madhanagopal, Terence Kwok Tak Chan, Yuri Dotsenko, Peter Hanpeng Jiang, Aacer Hatem Daken, Emily Nicole Wilson, Emily Cara Clemens, Cody Dean Hartwig, Raz Meir Aloni, Sharon Scarlet Tang, Minsang Kim, Shen Wang

Publication number: 20250114242Abstract: A comfortable insert comprises a retention structure sized for placement under the eyelids and along at least a portion of conjunctival sac of the upper and lower lids of the eye. The retention structure resists deflection when placed in the conjunctival sac of the eye and to guide the insert along the sac when the eye moves. The retention structure can be configured in many ways to provide the resistance to deflection and may comprise a hoop strength so as to urge the retention structure outward and inhibit movement of the retention structure toward the cornea. The insert may move rotationally with deflection along the conjunctival sac, and may comprise a retention structure having a cross sectional dimension sized to fit within folds of the conjunctiva. The insert may comprise a release mechanism and therapeutic agent to release therapeutic amounts of the therapeutic agent for an extended time.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 12, 2024Publication date: April 10, 2025Inventors: Eugene de Juan, JR., Yair Alster, Cary J. Patent number: 11798272Abstract: An activity assistance system includes a video camera arranged to acquire video of a person performing an activity, an output device configured to output human-perceptible prompts, and an electronic processor programmed to execute an activity script. The script comprises a sequence of steps choreographing the activity. The execution of each step includes presenting a prompt via the output device and detecting an event or sequence of events subsequent to the presenting of the prompt. Each event is detected by performing object detection on the video to detect one or more objects depicted in the video and applying one or more object-oriented image analysis functions to detect a spatial or temporal arrangement of one or more of the detected objects. Each event detection triggers an action comprising at least one of presenting a prompt via the output device and and/or going to another step of the activity script.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2021Date of Patent: October 24, 2023Assignee: BATTELLE MEMORIAL INSTITUTEInventors: Samuel Colachis, Gaurav Sharma, Collin Dunlap, Douglas Boyd, Joshua Branch
