  • Patent number: 10355385
Abstract: This invention is a means for interconnecting a Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) or Flat Flexible Cable (FFC) with a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) using a Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) style interconnection system. It features a high reliability contact structure providing a Normally Closed (NC) contact configuration which is always engaged unless deactivated by means of a movable actuator.

  • Publication number: 20160190741
Abstract: A system of keying and interlocking interconnection systems including rolling contact elements for use with disposable medical sensors including conductive ink circuits, flexible printed circuits, and printed circuit boards. The system includes stiffening elements of sufficient thickness and rigidity to protect the conductors and provide strain relief. The system also provides for keying, aligning, and interlocking of the interconnection system by providing indentations and/or protrusions in the stiffening elements on the male portion that correspond with features on the female portion of the interconnection system.

  • Publication number: 20150222037
Abstract: The system and method of electrically interconnecting conductive ink circuits with other electrical components such as wire harnesses, circuit boards, and flexible printed circuits. The rolling, contact system does not damage or degrade the conductive ink surface, which makes it suitable for a high number of insertion/extraction cycles. The system and method features a spring-loaded contact system that is specifically designed for a high number of mating cycles that incorporates one or more rolling conductive elements used to electrically contact a multi-conductor circuit.
