Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for extracting information through analysis of provenance data. For example, a computer-implemented method of extracting information regarding an execution of an enterprise process comprises the following steps. Provenance data is generated, wherein the provenance data is based on collected data associated with an actual end-to-end execution of the enterprise process and is indicative of a lineage of one or more data items. A provenance graph is generated that provides a visual representation of the generated provenance data, wherein nodes of the graph represent records associated with the collected data and edges of the graph represent relations between the records. At least a portion of the generated provenance data from the graph is analyzed so as to extract information about the execution of the enterprise process based on the analysis.

Abstract: A computer display layout manager that reduces the need to hand-craft the layout of application screens is able to rearrange elements according to the shape of the available area. The automated process helps interface designers create user interfaces which work well on multiple devices and in resizeable windows. The layout manager uses height for width and width for height trade-offs to resize elements. The elements of each row or column are packed and resized according to predetermined preferred sizing criteria.

Abstract: Display elements are designed to answer element size queries by a layout manager which enable an enhanced layout manager to pack elements on the display with greater uniformity and density than is possible with the element size queries available in the state of the art. The layout manager automatically uses height-for-width and/or width-for-height trade-offs to optimally resize said elements according to the shape of the available area.

Abstract: A method and system which enables an animator to make drawings and in-between drawings. Preceding and following tweens 74 and 75 are shown to the animator in such a way that they are distinguishable from each other and from the in-between drawing 73 on which the animator is working. Advantage is made of electronic graphics and display technology to assist the animator with drawing, editing, and coloring. The drawings are kept in an ordered list in which they can be arbitrarily inserted or deleted, drawn, and edited. The drawings can be viewed in animation immediately upon demand, yielding an instant pencil test for the animator. The drawings can also be output to a recording device according to the list.
