  • Publication number: 20050097892
Abstract: An inseparable assembly includes a body having a plurality of plies stacked in face to face relation and bonded together, wherein each of the plurality of plies includes a ceramic matrix composite material having a first predetermined ductility. The assembly further includes a reinforcement including a metallic wire mesh bonded to said body so that at least a portion of the metallic wire mesh is positioned between two adjacent plies in the body. The metallic wire mesh has a second predetermined ductility greater than the first ductility.

  • Patent number: 6867573
Abstract: An apparatus and method provide for temperature calibrating an over-current limit in a linear regulator. Output current is delivered to the load through a power pass device that is responsive to a gate control signal. A transistor circuit provides a sense current that is proportional to the output current. A diode device senses the operating temperature of the linear regulator. An analog-to-digital converter converts the sensed operating temperature to a digital quantity. A resistance value associated with a resistance circuit is changed in response to the digital quantity. The resistance circuit converts the sense current to a voltage that is compared to a reference voltage. An amplifier is arranged to adjust the gate control signal when the reference voltage is exceeded such that the over-current condition is detected.

  • Patent number: 6452766
Abstract: An over-current protection circuit for a power regulation circuit includes a reference generator that provides a reference level that is related to the level of the power source output that is controlled by the power regulation circuit in providing a regulated output. During normal operating conditions, the over-current protection circuit is isolated from the control signal provided to the pass element by other circuitry of the power regulation circuit. When the output current exceeds a predetermined level, the over-current protection circuit alters the control signal to the pass element to reduce the output current to a level below the predetermined value. If the over-current condition is removed, the over-current protection circuit detects this condition and again isolates itself from the control signal.
