Abstract: A first authorization system authorizes a mobile device to access over a first wireless network a plurality of services provided by a plurality of service systems. A second authorization system authorizes the mobile device to access the plurality of services over a second wireless network. The second authorization system also transfers location information corresponding to a location of the mobile device to the first authorization system. A first service system of the plurality of service systems provides a first service of the plurality of services. The first service system receives a request for the first service and transfers a request to the first authorization system for the location information. The first service system receives the location information, processes the location information, and selects a positioning satellite based on the location information. The first service system transfers a message indicating the positioning satellite to the mobile device.

Abstract: A method includes: positioning a laser in the cavity in an end of a slider, wherein the laser has an output facet positioned adjacent to a first wall of the cavity to define a first gap between the output facet and the first wall of the cavity, and filling at least a portion of the first gap adjacent to the output facet. An apparatus including a slider including a cavity in a trailing end of the slider, a laser positioned in the cavity and having an output facet positioned adjacent to a first wall of the cavity to define a first gap between the output facet and the first wall of the cavity, and a sealing material filling at least a portion of the first gap adjacent to the output facet is also provided.

Abstract: A method for processing lignocellulosic precursors that includes the following steps: A. provide a suitably sized lignocellulosic precursor with less than 11% moisture content; B. pack a hydrothermal processing vessel with between 1 and 3 times the free flow volume of the lignocellulosic precursor; C. subject the lignocellulosic precursor in the hydrothermal processing vessel to steam below 100 bar for up to 10 minutes; E. explosively decompress to ambient pressure; and then dry the resultant lignocellulosic product to below about 15% moisture content.

Abstract: The present application is directed to embodiments of an input device and methods to introduce a media sheet into an image forming apparatus. The device may include a support surface sized to support the media sheet. A ramp may be positioned adjacent to the support surface to direct the media sheet from the support surface to a media path. In one embodiment, a pick mechanism is positioned to move the media sheet from the support surface and alone the ramp. An adjustment member may be operatively connected to the ramp to adjust an angle of the ramp relative to the support surface depending upon a stiffness of the media sheet.

Abstract: The present application includes embodiments of a connector in an image forming device that establishes an electrical connection with a cartridge. The connector may include an electrical contact that is able to rotate in a first direction when in contact with the cartridge during a first amount insertion of the cartridge into the image forming device. The electrical contact may be adapted to stop rotating after the cartridge is inserted the first amount. As a result, the electrical connector may slide across the surface of the cartridge during additional insertion. The sliding motion may scrape off an oxidation or contamination layer thus providing a reliable electrical contact between the connector and the cartridge.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for moving media through an image forming device using a roller having a recessed kick area is described herein. The roller includes a contact surface having a first radius that extends 360° around the roller. The roller also includes at least one recess that extends inwardly from the contact surface along a sector of the roller, where a bottom surface of the recess has a second radius less than the first radius. As a result, along the sector of the roller having the recess, the width of the contact surface is less than the width of the roller. The recess comprises at least one kick surface on one end of the recess. As the roller rotates, the kick surface kicks a trailing edge of media exiting the exit roller system into a desired bin of the image forming device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for forming fibers of synthetic detergents. The composition includes a synthetic wax, a primary surfactant added to the synthetic wax, and a secondary surfactant added to the synthetic wax. The present invention also relates to a method for developing fibers of synthetic detergents. The method includes adding a primary surfactant to a synthetic wax; adding a secondary surfactant to the synthetic wax; and forming the synthetic wax into fibers. In another form, the present invention relates to a fiber that includes a synthetic wax, a primary surfactant embedded in the synthetic wax, and a secondary surfactant embedded in the synthetic wax. The present invention also relates to a fibrous matrix of synthetic detergents. The fibrous matrix includes fibers formed of a synthetic wax and a primary surfactant embedded in the fibers. The fibrous matrix further includes a secondary surfactant embedded in the fibers.

Abstract: An outdoor unit for satellite communications having an integrated transceiver and LNB circuits within an outer housing that positions a feed proximate the focal point of a reflector dish. The outer housing may have an extended longitudinal dimension, coupled directly to the reflector dish or the end of a shortened boom arm. The feed may be oriented with respect to the reflector dish in an offset single or dual optic configuration. The feed and or a sub reflector may be integral with the outer housing.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for the production of a multi-component extrusion having at least one snap-in connector prong attached to a capstocking layer and the multi-component extrusion so produced is disclosed. The multi-component extrusion is preferably produced in a multi-plate extrusion die where a primary extrudate is formed, a base capstocking layer is formed of a capstocking extrudate and is applied to a prong mounting surface of the primary extrudate, and the prong is formed of the capstocking extrudate and is attached to the base capstocking layer.

The method may also include determining whether a match exists between a reviewer and the creative content. The method may also include extending an invitation to the reviewer to review at least a portion of the creative content if a first match is found.

Abstract: Systems and methods of partnering content creators with content partners online are disclosed. In an exemplary implementation a method may include receiving registration information from a content partner and building a profile describing desired creative content for the content partner and receiving creative content. Based on at least the profile, the method may include determining whether a match exists between a content partner and the creative content. If a match is found, the method may include providing the content partner access to the creative content, and extending an invitation for the content partner to acquire rights in the creative content.

Abstract: Methods for the formation of sulfurized oligonucleotides are provided. The methods allow for the formation of phosphorothioate linkages in the oligonucleotides or derivatives, without the need for complex solvent mixtures and repeated washing or solvent changes. Oligonucleotides having from about 8, and up to about 50, nucleotides can be sulfurized according to the methods of the invention with higher yields than have been previously reported.

Abstract: A new and distinct Argyranthemum frutescens cultivar named ‘Arctic Butterfly’ is disclosed, characterized by white daisy type flowers having a diameter of at least 5 cm and a very well branched plant habit. The plant habit of the new variety is distinctive by producing more lateral branches than similar Argyranthemum frutescens with white ray florets. The new variety also produces more flowers in temperatures above 35° Celsius than similar Argyranthemum frutescens. The new variety is an Argyranthemum frutescens, and naturally blooms from Spring to early Fall.
