Publication number: 20200256342Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a sampling pump configured for use in a wellbore for pumping liquid collecting in the wellbore. The sampling pump has a pump component including a motor and an outer housing configured to be inserted into the well bore. The outer housing has an inlet and an outlet. A fluid sensor detects when the inlet of the outer housing is positioned in the liquid in the wellbore. A flexible electrical cable assembly supplies power to the motor and the fluid sensor, and also communicates with the motor and the fluid sensor. A user control panel communicates with the flexible electrical cable and enables a user to control on and off operation of the DC motor from the control panel. The user control panel also has a component which is responsive to signals from the fluid sensor to indicate when the inlet is at least partially submerged in the liquid within the wellbore, as the pump is lowered into the wellbore.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2020Publication date: August 13, 2020Inventors: Douglas D. Patent number: 9926759Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a removable orifice plate device which has an orifice plate having a circular portion with an aperture therein, and a graspable end portion extending therefrom. A tee body is included which has oppositely extending first and second tee runs and a tee branch. The tee runs are coupled to gas inflow and outflow pipes. The tee body has internal structure forming a slot which is aligned with an opening formed by the tee branch, and which receives the circular portion of the orifice plate. The orifice plate, when installed in the slot in the tee body, thus allows a flow of fluid only through the aperture. A removable cover encloses the orifice plate within the tee body.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 2015Date of Patent: March 27, 2018Assignee: Q.E.D. Environmental Systems, Inc.Inventor: Douglas D. Colby

Publication number: 20180058464Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a fluid pump having a pump housing and an inlet wall portion positioned adjacent the pump housing. The inlet wall portion has an extending portion which extends generally parallel to an inner surface of the pump housing. A motor is housed within the pump housing. An impeller is included which is responsive to the motor. An impeller retainer is disposed adjacent the impeller and includes a radiused corner portion. An O-ring is positioned at the radiused corner portion. The O-ring exerts a force non-perpendicular to the inner surface of the pump housing to form a seal against the inner surface of the pump housing and the extending portion of the inlet wall portion.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 7, 2017Publication date: March 1, 2018Inventor: Douglas D. Publication number: 20160298632Abstract: A sampling pump is disclosed for pumping liquids collecting in a wellbore. The sampling pump has a pump component having an inlet and an outlet, a pump element and DC motor for driving the pump element. A reel assembly having a reel and a frame supports a cable assembly wound on the reel. The cable assembly supplies power to the DC motor. A DC connector supported on the frame enables an external DC power source to power the DC motor. A fluid level sensor on the housing detects when the outer housing is positioned in fluid. A control panel on the frame is in electrical communication with the fluid sensor and configured to enable a user to control on and off operation of the DC motor.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2014Publication date: October 13, 2016Applicant: Q.E.D.
