    Abstract: A system and method for testing the accuracy of a network time protocol (NTP) client in a network that includes a time server that receives time information from a time source. The method polls the time source and the NTP client for timestamps at a regular time interval. The polling of the NTP client is offset from the polling of the time source by a fixed time offset. The method analyzes timestamps received from the time source and the NTP client in response to polling.
