Publication number: 20110309952Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for conflict monitoring and error detection in accessible pedestrian signal systems. A primary conflict monitor and error detector is configured to control output of audible and vibrotactile pedestrian signal indications. The primary conflict monitor and error detector monitors the current traffic state, and verifies audio and vibrotactile control signals against the current traffic state and user settings to determine whether to enable output of audible and vibrotactile pedestrian signal indications. The primary conflict monitor and error detector may transmit information about the audio and vibrotactile control signals to a secondary conflict monitor and error detector, which verifies the information received against the current traffic state and user settings, and inhibits output of audible and vibrotactile pedestrian signal indications in the event of a detected conflict or error.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2011Publication date: December 22, 2011Inventors: Douglas Donald GUBBE, David Philip ATNIKOV

Patent number: 5899958Abstract: A LWD tool is disclosed for providing an image of the borehole during drilling or during removal of the tool from the borehole. The tool includes imaging transducers which are fired based upon either time or direction. Borehole reflections are processed to determine time-of-flight to give an indication of standoff with respect to each transducer from which the borehole geometry can be obtained. The reflections also are analyzed for other information, such as the amplitude of the reflected signal. The time-of-flight and amplitude values are encoded and stored in memory for retrieval later. In addition to the imaging transducers, the imaging assembly also includes depth transducers to obtain a micro measurement of depth downhole. The micro-depth measurements are stored and/or transmitted to the surface. In addition, a directional sensor and clock are provided downhole to correlate the firing of the transducers and the receipt of reflections.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1995Date of Patent: May 4, 1999Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Iain Alexander Dowell, Douglas Donald Seiler, Patrick Leon York
