Abstract: A system for augmenting the transmission of audio and data information from a console (45) to a network (48). The system utilizes a data packet format that permits the detection and capture of relatively more detailed information from raw signal data that may otherwise not be available during the course of standard local and remote radio control operations. The system includes the ability to automatically detect Automatic Numerical Identification (ANI) information from the raw signal for recording or display purposes. The ANI information is stored on and received from a central server (44), thereby eliminating the need for each console (45) to store and access an individual ANI/user cross reference table. The system automatically analyzes the data contained in each packet to differentiate between identification and audio information, thereby reducing the total amount of data processed by eliminating the introduction of audio processing or buffering steps into the nonaudio control and identification data.
