  • Publication number: 20190313280
Abstract: Facilitating flexible maximum transmission unit packet core design in a communications network is provided herein. A system can comprise a processor and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations. The operations can comprise receiving a first transmission unit setting from a first network device. The first transmission unit setting can indicate a size of a largest network layer protocol data unit that is able to be communicated in a single network transaction by the first network device. The operations can also comprise setting, at the device, a configuration of the first network device to the first transmission unit setting. Further, the operations can comprise sending first communication packets to the first network device using the first transmission unit setting and second communication packets to a second network device using a second transmission unit setting different from the first transmission unit setting.

  • Patent number: 10375548
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, from an application server, a data transfer request associated with delivery of data from the application server to a wireless communication device that is connected to a mobile communication network, determining a priority score for the data transfer request associated with the wireless communication device according to status information in a subscription profile associated with the wireless communication device, comparing the priority score for the data transfer request associated with the wireless communication device to a plurality of priority scores associated with a plurality of data transfer requests associated with deliver of data to a plurality of wireless communication devices that are connected to the mobile communication network to generate a transfer order mapping of a set of requests comprising the data transfer request and the plurality of data transfer requests, and transferring the data from the application server to the

  • Publication number: 20180302440
Abstract: A network aware data driven Internet of things (IoT) service engine is presented herein. A method can comprise receiving a policy rule from a network device of respective network devices—the policy rule corresponding to a sensor of a group of sensors that have been configured to transmit information of respective services to the respective network devices using an Internet protocol, and the policy rule defining an action to be performed by the system in response to a behavior of the sensor being determined to satisfy a defined condition specified by the policy rule with respect to a service of the respective services; based on the policy rule, monitoring the behavior of the sensor; and in response to determining that the behavior of the sensor satisfies the defined condition, performing the action on behalf of the network device.

  • Patent number: 9585051
Abstract: A new deployment model enables a seamless migration to LTE (long term evolution)/EPC (Evolved packet core). In addition, an intelligent edge gateway (IEG) supports future distributed architecture and a converged network for service providers. Specifically, the model supports existing data services (e.g. UMTS) and the delivery of LTE services does not affect the existing data services. Moreover, a distributed architecture is employed, such that, local traffic is optimally routed at the edge and backhaul is minimized. The system can also provide support for enhanced Femto cell 3GPP access to a home network.

  • Patent number: 8874729
Abstract: Aspects describe using a network element to facilitate scalability within a communication network and to provide policy as a network service in a mobile core network. The network element can be scalable and can be a primary policy access gateway for a first geographic region and can be a secondary policy access gateway for at least a second geographic region. The first geographic region and the second geographic region can have portions that overlap. Further, the network element can hide topology of the home network from roaming partners.

  • Patent number: 8607304
Abstract: A policy-enabled service gateway contains a gateway function and a local policy engine containing policies related to the functionality of the associated gateway function. New or updated policies may be provided to the local policy engine from a centralized policy server. The policies within the local policy engine are functionally related to the gateway function and provide for policy and/or charging enforcement associated with the gateway function. If the local policy engine does not contain a particular policy, it may request the policy from the centralized policy server. The local policy engine may choose to store the requested policy for future use.
