Patent number: 6546767Abstract: A vehicle door lock assembly has a latch (12) for mounting on a vehicle door. The latch (12) has at least one release lever for effecting releasing of the latch and at least one locking lever (14) for locking the latch, disabling the release lever, and unlocking the latch, enabling the release lever. A compound linkage (20, 24; 20, 124) operatively engages the locking lever (14). A lock cylinder (30, 130) has a spindle (28) which engages the linkage. The spindle (28) rotates in response to keyed rotation of a matched key being received by the lock cylinder (30; 130) which drives the linkage (20, 24; 20, 124) to effect movement of the locking lever (14). The spindle (28) is axially slidable to disengage the spindle from the linkage. A hollow shield (34) shrouds the locking lever (14), the linkage (20, 24; 20, 124) and the engagement between the linkage and the spindle (28), preventing access thereto. If the spindle is removed, the linkage will pivot away preventing manipulation thereof.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2001Date of Patent: April 15, 2003Assignee: Atoma International Corp.Inventors: Juliusz Kirejczyk, Douglas G. Patent number: 6237737Abstract: The present application discloses a power actuator that has a motor having a rotatable motor output member and a clutch assembly. A stamped, cup-shape ferromagnetic coil casing has a generally radially extending base wall and an annular side wall extending generally axially from the base wall. An annular ferromagnetic flux intensifying washer is positioned adjacent to the base wall of the coil casing. An annular coil of electroconductive material is disposed within the casing with the side wall extending in surrounding relation with respect to the coil such that the field generated by the coil flows generally radially through the base wall and generally axially through said side wall. A ferromagnetic armature is in sliding relation with the annular coil and movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 1999Date of Patent: May 29, 2001Assignee: Atoma International Corp.Inventors: Gregory A. Patent number: 5896691Abstract: A module having a housing, a battery, control circuitry and electrical conductors. The battery and control circuitry are contained in the housing. The housing is adapted to be removably connected to the frame of a firearm. The electrical conductors are located on the housing and allow the battery and control circuit to be electrically connected to other components of the firearm. The housing can be connected at a hand grip section of the firearm and forms a substantial portion of at least one exterior side of the firearm at the hand grip section.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 1998Date of Patent: April 27, 1999Assignee: Colt's Manufacturing Company, Inc.Inventors: Kevin A. Kaminski, Douglas G. Overbury

Patent number: 4389779Abstract: A housing for a chain saw which is a clamshell type having a support section and a cover section. The cover section has a lower section which is at least three times wider than the width of the support section. The cover section has stiffening ribs formed on the underside of the wide lower section. Fastening means enterconnect the support section and the cover section.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1980Date of Patent: June 28, 1983Assignee: Black & Decker Inc.Inventors: Douglas G. Patent number: 4365416Abstract: A joint formed by interconnecting a frame, a handle and a handguard with a single fastener. The members are interlocked to each other to transfer any torque created by a force applied to the housing of the chain saw or one or more of the interconnected members. The handle and the handguard each have slabbed sides which coact to produce a wedge-like locking action therebetween.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1980Date of Patent: December 28, 1982Assignee: Black & Decker Inc.Inventor: Douglas G. Patent number: 4353163Abstract: A portable power driven chain saw (20) having an automatic oiling system (54) including an externally adjustable control valve (60) which meters an adjustable flow of oil (69) therethrough unidirectionally and to stop the flow in the valve when the chain saw (20) is stopped. An improved oil pump (58) is provided of the rotor (72) vane type. The adjustable member (124) of the control valve (60) has a longitudinal opening (130) for the flow of oil (69) therethrough to the guide bar (24), also the opening (130) slidably carries the stem (144) of the check valve (140) which provides for the unidirectional flow.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1980Date of Patent: October 12, 1982Assignee: Black & Decker Inc.Inventors: Douglas G.
