    Abstract: An assemblage (8) comprises an electrical connector (10) having body (12) with a tubular projection (14) having a push-through portion (16) having a first diameter and an engaging portion (18) having a second diameter larger than the first diameter. A support (20) for the electrical connector (10) has a major part 22 that is substantially rigid and includes an aperture (24) formed by a plurality of deflectable spokes (26). The aperture (24) has a center opening (28) with a third diameter greater than the first diameter and less than the second diameter, whereby the tubular projection push-through portion (16) slides through the aperture (24) and the spokes (26) engage the second diameter of the engaging portion (18) and mount the electrical connector (10) with the support (20).

A trough (18) is formed in the member (12) to accommodate an electrically conductive contact pin (18a) and at least one leg (19) is provided on member (12) extending in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis (13). In a preferred embodiment the member (12) has four legs (19), as shown in FIGS. 2 and 5, which in the final construction will provide the ground connections for the connector. Member (12) can be die cast zinc. Member (12) additionally is provided with an integral electromagnetic interference shield in the form of oppositely disposed wings (100, 102), which project from the hollow cylindrical end 16.

    Abstract: A substantially annular electrical contact (12) has an inside dimension (14) and an outside dimension (16). A preferred material for the contact (12) is phosphorus-bronze. The inside dimension (14) is provided with a plurality of contact beams (18). The outside dimension (16) is provided with a plurality of retention beams (20). The contact beams and the retention beams are spaced alternately from one another. A wire-receiving trough (21) is provided between two of the retention beams and extends away from the annulus. A substantially cup-shaped electrically insulating insert (22) (see FIG. 3) is also provided and comprises an interior wall (26) and an exterior wall (28). A preferred material for the insert is polypropylene. The interior wall (26) is provided with pockets (30) for receiving the contact beams (18) and the exterior wall (28) is provided with pockets (32) for receiving the retention beams (20).
