Abstract: A manual stabilizing device is designed to be used and operated by a person positioned adjacent a bicycle being ridden by another person, such as a child. The inventive device includes an elongated handle and an engaging jaw that allow a user to grab or connect with an element of a bicycle frame at the time of use without previously adding or permanently securing any other device to the bicycle. An operator controlled handle or lever controls the engaging jaw to capture or release a portion of the bicycle frame to allow the user to apply stabilizing forces to the bicycle.
