  • Patent number: 9642346
Abstract: A fishing line guide system for use on a fishing rod comprising at least two fishing line guides or concentrically aligned guide rings to reduce the helix formed in the fishing line during casting including a primary or proximal guide ring and a secondary or distal guide ring disposed in planes substantially parallel to each other and spaced within a predetermined range or distance relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 5352093
Abstract: A propeller for use on low power motors, such as two-horsepower or less electric trolling motors, is provided with three or more blades on a hub wherein the hub diameter to the blade length (i.e. the length of the blade from the hub to the outermost tip) is in the ratio of at least 1.250 to 1. The hub diameter to blade length ration is such as to produce a propeller having increased performance and is substantially weedless. The width of each blade at its root is equal to or greater than the blade length and the ratio of the sum of the widths of the blades to the circumference of the hub is approximately 1.2 to 1. The true or actual pitch of the blades is measured at 0.7 the radius of the propeller and produces the best results as far as performance and weedlessness is concerned within the range of 2" to 7". The leading edge of one blade forms a junction with the hub in close proximity to a plane containing both the longitudinal axis of the hub and the junction of the trailing edge of the next adjacent blade.

  • Patent number: 4922645
Abstract: Magnetism is used to reduce the tendency of a fish hook to snag. A magnet may be attachted to a fishing rig, or part of the rig or a hook may be magnetized, so as to attract a movable hook to a relatively shielded position in contact with the rig where the hook is less likely to snag than when it hangs loosely or is free swinging, or magnetism may be used to hold a weed guard in a position where it shields a hook. The strike of a fish can pull the hook free from the magnet or weed guard and enable its point to penetrate the mouth of the fish.

Date of Patent: May 8, 1990

  • Patent number: 4482298
Abstract: A weedless propeller comprising a major hub having a plurality of propeller blades. The rearward end of the major hub is bluntly terminated immediately aft the trailing edge of the blades at the root of the blades. A secondary hub is connected to the forward end of the primary hub. The junction between the forward end of the secondary hub and the shroud of the engine or motor driving the propeller is spaced a substantial distance from the major hub and blades. Preferably, the diameter of the primary and secondary hub is the same, with the diameter of the forward end of the secondary hub being substantially equal to the diameter of the shroud of the motor to create a streamline flow of water along the shroud and along the secondary and primary hubs.
