  • Publication number: 20020152570
Abstract: A toothbrush having two head sections, the sections being normally biased to assume an angle with respect to each other, to thereby define a generally concave bristle tip configuration. The two sections of the head have facing ends joined by a thin bridge section integral with the two heads. In one embodiment, there is one bridge section near the lower surface of the head. In another embodiment, there are two longitudinally spaced bridge sections each near the lower head surface. In a third embodiment, the bridge section is a thin integral connection between facing ends of the two sections. In other embodiments, the two head sections are normally aligned and are also joined by a thin, integral bridge section, with the bristles of the head section most remote from the handle being of uniformly different lengths. The space between the two facing ends is filled with an elastomer, typically Santoprene (brand). The two head sections define an articulated head.

  • Patent number: 5653717
Abstract: A wound closure device which maintains pneumoperitoneum while allowing a surgeon to capture an mount of tissue which is substantially wider than the diameter of a trocar cannula through which the device is inserted. The wound closure device includes, an elongated guide member, a hook shaped needle and a retracting mechanism for moving the needle from an open position to a closed position. In the closed position, the tip of the needle is positioned within the guide member so that the needle can be easily inserted into a body. In the open position, the needle tip is positioned outside of the guide member at a distance from the guide member which is greater than the diameter of the guide member.

  • Patent number: 4989519
Abstract: A shelving apparatus includes a vertically extending first leg having a first end with a frusto-conical outer surface. A horizontal shelf has a frusto-conical hole. A vertically extending second leg has a first end with (a) a frusto-conical inner surface having a taper shaped to engage the frusto-conical outer surface of the first leg, and (b) a frusto-conical outer surface having a taper shaped to engage the frusto-conical inner surface of the shelf hole. Preferably, all engaging frusto-conical surfaces and holes are coaxial and cofrustal. Alternative tapered structures for the first and second legs and shelf hole may be provided.
