Abstract: A novel food container for the storage and transport of food, particularly hot food such as pizza. The container comprises an identical upper and lower portion, each portion having a flat, base surface, outwardly extending side walls with a circumferential lip therearound. A locking means is carried on the lip to releasably lock the upper and lower portions together. A plurality of vertical honeycombs are on the interior of the base surface and a plurality of buttresses are found in the interior side walls. The device is preferably made of an expanded material such as polystyrene and only requires an single mould to manufacture it.
