Abstract: A method and system for identifying manufacturing anomalies in a manufacturing system comprising a plurality of products which are manufactured with a plurality of manufacturing parameters is disclosed. The system comprises a data mining program applied to the data warehouse for analyzing the stored manufacturing parameters to define a normal manufacturing parameter subset. The data mining program is further for detecting that at least one of the plurality of manufacturing parameters is excluded from the normal subset. The system further comprises a reporting means for reporting the at least one detected manufacturing parameter. The data mining program may further detect that a plurality of the manufacturing parameters are excluded from the first subset. The data mining program then analyzes the detected plurality of manufacturing parameters to define a second normal subset of the detected plurality of manufacturing parameters.

Abstract: A quality information system for receiving and/or presenting quality information in a component exchange system and methods of manufacturing and using the same. The quality information system comprises a receiving system, a converter, and an extractor. The receiving system is capable of receiving characteristic data from at least one seller processor and/or at least one buyer processor and is capable of communicating the characteristic data to the converter. Upon receiving the characteristic data, the converter converts the characteristic data into standardized characteristic data in accordance with a data standard established by the converter. The converter then communicates the standardized characteristic data to the extractor, which can present the standardized characteristic data to each of the seller processors and/or each of the buyer processors.

Abstract: A system and method for creating an aggregated data model from a plurality data distribution models having bins approximating data elements in a plurality of data distributions is disclosed. Each bin of each data distribution model has a polynomial formula for approximating data elements in a respective data distribution.

Abstract: A method and system for preparing a data record with multidimensional attributes for processing by a data-mining tool includes the steps of identifying a normalized data record, which includes an existing attribute comprising a plurality of dimensions, and generating a plurality of new attributes corresponding to the plurality of dimensions of the existing attribute. The method further includes creating an REI data record comprising the plurality of new attributes. The method further includes associating a plurality of value instances corresponding to the dimensions of the existing attribute with the plurality of new attributes.

Abstract: A method and system for providing a manufacturing information system is disclosed. The system comprises a means for receiving and storing in a data warehouse component identifiers for identifying component manufacturing parameters for a quantity of components. The system further includes product identifiers for identifying manufactured products. The system further comprises a relational means for relating the component identifiers with the product identifiers for the products in which the components are included. The system further comprises a means for receiving a sub-set of the product identifiers, wherein the sub-set of product identifiers is for identifying a sub-set of the products which have a variation in performance.
