  • Patent number: 6846443
Abstract: A tubular dispensing container has a head whose shoulder is joined to a tubular body. The head and shoulder can be thin because they are provided with a plurality of ribs that extend axially from the neck to the lower end of the shoulder and rigidify the head. A head for a tubular dispensing container is provided having the above-mentioned ribs. Apparatus for forming the head has male or female tooling with axially grooves formed therein to form the ribs on the inside or outside surface of the head. Methods involve flowing moldable material along the grooves to provide the lower end of the shoulder of the head with enough moldable material at elevated temperature and pressure to form a good bond of the shoulder with the tubular body.

  • Publication number: 20040164094
Abstract: There is a plastic dispensing tube having shaped corners. The dispensing tube has a tubular plastic sleeve and a plastic head affixed to one end of the sleeve. The sleeve has an interior surface. The head defines a neck having a passageway therethrough and a shoulder defining one or more corners therein. The head further defines one or more ribs extending from the one or more corners into the sleeve. The one or more ribs is affixed to the interior surface of the sleeve. There is also a process for making the plastic dispensing tube.

  • Publication number: 20040000483
Abstract: The present invention is a capillary electrophoresis device, comprising a substrate; a first channel in the substrate, and having a buffer arm and a detection arm; a second channel in the substrate intersecting the first channel, and having a sample arm and a waste arm; a buffer reservoir in fluid communication with the buffer arm; a waste reservoir in fluid communication with the waste arm; a sample reservoir in fluid communication with the sample arm; and a detection reservoir in fluid communication with the detection arm. The detection arm and the buffer arm are of substantially equal length.

  • Patent number: 6645641
Abstract: Copolymers of ethylene and alpha olefins that have been formed by the polymerization reaction in the presence of a single site catalyst, such as a metallocene, are used to form collapsible dispensing containers and/or components thereof. Blends of the copolymers with propylene polymers are disclosed and used to form a body wall layer or a collapsible dispensing container head having good bond strength with a body wall layer formed of an ethylene polymer. Methods for improving the adhesion between collapsible dispensing container components, such as between body wall layer formed of an ethylene polymer and another body wall layer formed of a propylene polymer, or between a body wall layer formed of an ethylene polymer and a collapsible dispensing container head formed of a propylene polymer, are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6347726
Abstract: A dual dispense container, for example, a collapsible dual dispense tube, is provided that has a dual dispense orifice whose shape generally corresponds to a cloverleaf. The cloverleaf-like shape of the dual dispense orifice renders the dual dispense container capable of simultaneously dispensing two products with the same or similar flow characteristics in the same or substantially the same volumes.
