  • Patent number: 6062235
Abstract: A cosmetic sampler comprising an elongated base formed from a sheet with a top portion and a bottom portion. The top portion has an applicator portion and a discard portion separable from the applicator portion. The discard portion has a first hinge therethrough at a midpoint thereof and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the base and a second hinge therethrough where the top portion connects to the bottom portion. There is a cosmetic product disposed on a part of the applicator portion and a transparent protective layer disposed over the top portion of the base. An adhesive attaches the protective layer to the base, covering the discard layer above the first hinge and only partially covering the discard layer between the first hinge and the second hinge, so that the protective layer is easily lifted off of the base below the first hinge.

  • Patent number: 5918608
Abstract: A cosmetic sampler comprising three panels connected to each other via scored hinges. There is an application tip cut into the second or middle panel that extends upward from a first end panel when the middle and first end panels are folded against each other. A single dose of a cosmetic product is deposited on the tip. A third end panel extends from the middle panel and has a hole cut therethrough. The hole directly overlies the tip when the third end panel is folded over the other two panels so the cosmetic is visible through the hole. The sampler is maintained in a folded state where the third end panel overlies the other two panels until the sampler is used. At this point, the sampler is opened and the first end panel is folded back from the middle panel to allow the user to apply cosmetic from the tip directly to their skin.

  • Patent number: 5772022
Abstract: A disc storage case formed from a single sheet, comprising a center panel having an inside surface and an outside surface and two disc support sections, with each disc support section being integrally formed with an opposite edge of the center panel. Each disc support section forms a side wall, a top sloped wall and a bottom flap. The side wall is connected to the center panel by a first scored hinge and to the top sloped wall by a second scored hinge. The top sloped wall is connected to the bottom flap by a third scored hinge. The top sloped wall has an arcuately-shaped slit cut therethrough. Each end of the slit terminates at the third scored hinge, such that upon folding the disc support sections along the hinges, the slit creates an arcuate opening for insertion of a disc.

  • Patent number: 5328732
Abstract: Package stuffing material is formed by rolling strips of relatively rigid paper stock to cylindrical bodies. The strip is rolled so that the outer longitudinal edge is adhered to the outer surface of the cylinder while the inner end hangs free. The inner end extends between a 90.degree. to 180.degree. arc along the inner wall and when the cylindrical is pressed its edge engages the wall substantially limiting the degree of distortion.
