Publication number: 20240091422Abstract: A renal therapy system is disclosed. In an example, the renal therapy system includes a home renal therapy machine that stores, to a log file, dates of when renal therapies were performed and a type of each renal therapy that was performed. The system also includes a server that receives the log file from the home renal therapy machine. The server compares the dates and types of performed renal therapies stored in the log file to a device program that specifies dates for performing renal therapies and the types of renal therapies to be performed. The server displays a flag in a user interface of a clinician computer when there is a deviation from the comparison.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Neil Tiwari, Joshua James Miller, Marc Steven Minkus, Matthew R. Patent number: 7196290Abstract: A heat sealer having a heated platen, a cylinder for reciprocating the platen, a die positioned to be engaged by the platen and a shuttle supporting the die to move the die from a platen-engaging position to a non-engaging position, and a control for controlling the temperature of the platen and the force applied to the platen against the die by the cylinder. The invention also includes a temperature sensor for sensing the surface temperature of the platen and a load sensor for sensing the force applied by the platen to the die. In one embodiment, the temperature sensor is an infrared temperature sensor that reads the surface temperature of the platen and the load sensor is a load cell positioned beneath the die and supporting the die so that the load sensors can measure the direct force applied by the platen against the die. Also, in one embodiment, the infrared sensor is positioned beneath the die so that it can read the platen temperature when the die is displaced to the non-engaging position.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2004Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Planet Products CorporationInventors: William Michael Oliver, Douglas J. Robinson, Jon T. Sharrah, Alford Jack Ramey, John A. Lynch

Patent number: 6808144Abstract: A parafoil recovery system capable of autonomously controlling the descent profile of a payload to a recovery area and maneuvering the parafoil to execute a soft landing in the recovery area is disclosed. A descent profile management system determines wind speed and direction, altitude, heading, and position of the payload based on sensor input. The descent profile management system also determines a gliding flight path profile from the launch point to the desired recovery area. A flare and stall maneuver is executed at the end of the landing sequence by braking the parafoil to slow the vertical descent speed and groundspeed for a soft landing. The pitch attitude of the payload can be adjusted by the descent profile management system to prevent nose-first impact with the ground. The parafoil canopy is released from the payload upon touchdown to prevent the canopy from dragging the payload on the ground after landing.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 2002Date of Patent: October 26, 2004Assignee: Lockheed-Martin CorporationInventors: Leland M. Nicolai, William R. Ramsey, Jr., Douglas J. Robinson

Publication number: 20030025038Abstract: A parafoil system for autonomously controlling the gliding descent of a payload/UAV from a launch point to a predetermined recovery area and manipulating the parafoil to execute a soft landing in the recovery area, a sensing means associated with the system for determining wind speed and direction, as well as altitude, heading and position of the system, a means housed within the system for processing information received from the sensing means to determine the gliding flight path from the launch point to a predetermined recovery area and the execution of a flare maneuver to achieve a soft landing, control surface means on the parafoil canopy, mechanical means coupling the information processing means with the control surface means for adjusting the control surface means to accomplish the steering to the recovery area during gliding flight and the flare maneuver during landing, and a power source in the payload/UAV.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2001Publication date: February 6, 2003Applicant: Lockheed Martin CorporationInventors: Leland M. Patent number: 5180222Abstract: The present invention provides a display cabinet for displaying an object from a plurality of views, in which the observer's own image is not reflected. According to the present invention, at least one reflective surface such as mirrors are provided within a cabinet. The mirrors define an internal display chamber within the cabinet, with one of the faces of the display chamber constituting a viewing window having a special coating which allows some of the interior light to escape the display chamber. The lighting in the display chamber is controlled so as to ensure that more light exits the viewing window than enters from outside the display cabinet, thus ensuring that the observer's image is not reflected.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 1991Date of Patent: January 19, 1993Inventor: Douglas J. Robinson

Patent number: 4619751Abstract: A plastic insulator extending around and conforming to the shape of a header bar supporting a lead electrowinning anode includes legs that extend from the top of the header bar downward along the opposite faces of the anode to a level below the bottom edge of the anode, whereat the lower ends of the legs are joined. The upper, outer side surfaces of the insulator are sloped to prevent shorting of cathodes with the anode header bar during loading and removal of the cathodes. In one described embodiment of the invention, the insulator is hairpin-shaped with the lower ends thereof joined by a plastic retaining pin. In another embodiment of the invention, a U-shaped lower section is attached in a telescoping fashion to the lower ends of the legs of the insulator. In one embodiment of the invention, an upper portion of the insulator extends substantially above the top of the anode header bar to guide cathodes between the anodes during loading and removal of the cathodes.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1985Date of Patent: October 28, 1986Inventor: Douglas J. Patent number: 4442073Abstract: A method for recovering superalloy scrap is disclosed. The method involves oxidizing superalloy scrap in an aqueous acidic medium. The aqueous acidic medium has an oxidation potential sufficient to oxidize nonferrous additive superalloy elements to insoluble oxides thereof and to oxidize major superalloy constituents to aqueously soluble species. The insoluble solids from the aqueous solution are separated when the aqueous solution is extracted with an aqueously substantially insoluble tertiary amine to form an organic phase and an aqueous phase. The aqueous phase contains essentially nickel and chromium values. The organic phase is sequentially extracted with aqueous solutions which selectively solubilize individual metal value species to form individual aqueous solutions having substantially single metal value species therein. The metal value species solutions are processed to obtain substantially pure metals.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 1982Date of Patent: April 10, 1984Assignee: University Patents, Inc.Inventors: Douglas J.
