  • Publication number: 20190086256
Abstract: Systems and methods for maritime infrasound detection can include at least one waterborne platform. A microbarometer, inertial measurement unit (IMU) and heave cancellation component (HCC) can be mounted on the waterborne platform. The HCC can receive a pressure input from the microbarometer and the IMU to generate an output pressure that can be indicative of an infrasound signal of interest (SOI). The HCC can further include a filter and an adaptive algorithm. The filter can receive IMU pressure and environment noise pressure as inputs. An error signal from the HCC output can also be supplied through a closed feedback loop that includes a Recursive Least Squares adaptive algorithm, which can further include a weighted, tapped delay line. The system can further include a remote data center for receiving the HCC output from the waterborne platform(s), which can be buoys, vessel or USV's.

  • Publication number: 20190024437
Abstract: An access system for a structure includes a control box mounted within a controlled access space of the structure and operatively coupled to a door panel operator that opens and closes a door panel of the structure for access to the controlled access space. The control box is configured to detect a presence of a security device relative to the control box, determine a position of the security device relative to the structure, and determine an authorization of the security device. The access system also includes a user interface mounted in an uncontrolled access space of the structure and coupled in communication with the control box. Upon actuation of the user interface, the control box operates the door panel operator when the security device is positioned proximate the control box, located in the uncontrolled access space of the structure, and authorized to operate the door panel.

  • Patent number: 10166425
Abstract: A resistance system, which can be suitable for incorporation in exercise equipment, is a “hybrid” resistance assembly having at least a first and a second resistance unit. The first resistance unit can be of a first type and the second resistance unit can be of a second type. The first resistance unit can be an inertial resistance unit, which incorporates an inertial load that creates resistance influenced by the inertia of a movable mass, such as a rotatable flywheel. The second resistance unit can be a static or non-inertial resistance unit, such as a displacement resistance unit, which incorporates a load that creates resistance influenced by displacement (e.g., linear or rotational displacement) of an input to the displacement resistance unit.

  • Publication number: 20180357579
Abstract: In one embodiment, the invention can be a method of displaying survey results. The method can include, for each of a plurality of survey items, receiving survey responses from survey respondents, wherein each response is chosen from response options, the response options corresponding to an ordinal scale; each respondent is associated with a collection of respondent segments; and each response to each item by each survey respondent corresponds with a response score. The method can further include, for each item and respondent segment, determining a composite score based on the response score. Further, response groupings can be displayed according to a noteworthiness ranking that is based on at least two of the composite score, a change in the composite score, and a sum of weights for each respondent segment.

  • Patent number: 10082050
Abstract: An anti-rotation guide for a lifter in an overhead valve valvetrain. The anti-rotation guide includes a plug having two lobes connected through a neck region. A first lobe of the plug is held within a bore in the lifter. The bore forms an opening at the edge of the lifter through which the neck of the plug emerges. The bore in the lifter accommodates a first lobe of the plug that is wider than the opening in the edge of the lifter, whereby the plug is shaped to prevent its slipping from the lifter through the opening. The lifter reciprocates in a first bore in the cylinder head. The second lobe of the plug extends outward from the lifter into a second bore formed in the cylinder head and adjoining the first bore. The second lobe reciprocates in the second bore and limits rotation of the lifter.
