    Abstract: A media cutter mechanism for a plotter in which the media is supported by a rotating support having one or more continuous recesses therein positioned to be at least partially covered by the media, the media being stationary with respect to the rotating support. One or more cutters are positioned external of the support and are movable a preselected distance into the recesses. Movers are provided for moving the cutters into the recesses to cut the media covering the recesses. In a particular embodiment, a plurality of individual cutters are employed and a plurality of commonly driven individual cams interact with the cutters for individually moving the individual cutters into the recesses. A controller is provided for controlling the individual cams to cut the media into preselected widths. In addition, a driver is provided for commonly driving the individual cutters.

A stripper is positioned external of the support and is adapted to be extended a preselected distance into the recess. A mover is provided for moving the stripper into the recess prior to the covering thereof by the media, whereby the media is stripped from the support by the stripper.

    Abstract: In a push-to-release latch connected to a door/lid revolving about an axis of rotation of a cabinet between open, closed and unlatched, and closed and latched positions wherein the closed and unlatched and closed and latched positions are rotationally displaced from one another, apparatus for determining the status of the latch without sensing the latch. A reflector is carried by the door/lid or the cabinet and a non-contacting optical sensor carried by the other for directing a beam of light from an emitter, for receiving the beam of light as reflected by the reflector, and for outputting an electrical signal at an output thereof as a function of reflected light. The reflector and the non-contacting optical sensor are positioned such that the beam of light strikes the reflector to be reflected thereby when the door/lid is in a closed and latched position and the beam of light does not strike the reflector to be reflected thereby when the door/lid is in a closed and unlatched position.

    Abstract: The following specification discloses a low level lighting indicator readout or display of the type having a lighting source such as incandescent lamps that have been placed in a heat sink. The incandescent bulbs or lamps are connected to a logic network, so that one or a plurality of bulbs can be lit by the logic network in order to cause a particular display to be registered. The display is registered by means of the lamps passing light through a series of conductive light tubes such as fiber optic members that emanate therefrom to form a series of optical readouts in the form of dots, or segments, such as bar displays. The termination of the light pipes provide a matrix in the form of a dot pattern that can be driven to create various displays in the form of alpha numeric representations or other symbols.
