The use of a MER TKI in combination with a chemotherapeutic agent, wherein the MER TKI can be administered to a host with a cancer prior to, during, or after administration with a chemotherapeutic agent, provides for increased anti-tumor effects without an increase in the standard of care dosage of the chemotherapeutic agent.
