  • Patent number: 4264088
Abstract: A slide mount is adapted to selectively move a plunger assembly of a ski binding relative to a detent recess component. The slide mount includes a rail mounted on the ski and having a channel aligned with the recess, a slide carrying the plunger assembly and mounted on the rail for sliding movement along the channel both toward and away from the recess, and an actuator arranged to act between the rail and slide to cause the slide to move between a first position closer to the detent recess and a second position farther from the detent recess. The actuator includes a lever pivotally mounted on the rail, and a link pivotally connected to the lever and the slide, so that pivotal movement of the lever will produce corresponding linear motion of the slide.

  • Patent number: 4243244
Abstract: A ski brake is incorporated in a slide mount for a ski binding component. The slide mount has a rail mounted on the ski, a slide mounted for movement along the rail, and a lever mounted for pivotal movement relative to the rail, and arranged to effect movement of the slide. The slide carries a plunger assembly component of the ski binding. The ski brake includes extensions mounted on the liner for movement therewith, and a torsional spring arranged to urge the lever to move toward a raised position. The torsional spring causes the lever to move to its raised position in the absence of an axial load on the plunger. As the lever moves toward its raised position, the extensions move downwardly below the ski to inhibit free sliding movement of the ski.

  • Patent number: 4192527
Abstract: An improved ski binding has a resiliently-loaded holding device operatively interposed between a boot assembly and a ski to provide points of contact between the boot assembly and ski at each of three mutually-spaced locations arranged at the apices of an imaginary triangle. At each location, a convex member is mounted on the boot assembly to engage a concave surface on the ski. An improved pivot clip is mounted on the ski and provides two of the concave surfaces. The pivot clip has two cam surfaces, each of which is engaged by a convex member mounted on the sole-plate. Each of the cam surfaces is inclined in a direction such that an external moment applied to the boot assembly about the skier's tibial axis will produce a reaction force between one cam surface and its associated convex member, which reaction force will have a longitudinal component not opposing the applied moment.

  • Patent number: 3949685
Abstract: An automatic suction-type cleaning system for apparatus such as a household incinerator, which system comprises a number of air jets spaced at selected intervals along two walls of a compartment being cleaned and directed toward a single common outlet in one corner of the compartment so as to sweep substantially the entire floor area thereof.
