Patent number: 12208306Abstract: A manually powered treadmill includes a front rotatable element and a rear rotatable element coupled to a frame; a bearing assembly at least partially supporting one of the front or rear rotatable elements; and a running belt disposed about the front and rear rotatable elements. The bearing assembly includes a predefined low viscosity bearing fluid. The running belt defines a non-planar running surface. The running belt includes a first endless belt and a plurality of slats, each slat having a first side and a second side and coupled to the first endless belt. Each slat in the plurality of slats defines at least one aperture, and the at least one aperture is structured to receive a fastener to facilitate coupling to the first endless belt.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2023Date of Patent: January 28, 2025Assignee: Woodway USA, Inc.Inventors: Douglas G. Publication number: 20080171465Abstract: A head stack assembly (HSA) that may eliminate the need for a plurality of separate components by molding all of the HSA parts together into a single connector is disclosed. Such an HSA may include a single connector having a mating interface and a fastener extending from a surface of the connector, a flex circuit attached to the connector, and a gasket seal placed on the upper surface of the connector. The fasteners may be compliant pegs that are pressed into a disc housing, thereby holding the gasket and connector in place. When the HSA is correctly oriented, the mating interface of the connector may mate with a printed circuit board (PCB) mount connector. Because a number of HSA components are molded into a single-piece connector, metal screws may not be required, thereby reducing the loading forces and warp on the PCB.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2007Publication date: July 17, 2008Applicant: FCI Americas Technology, Inc.Inventors: Louis D. Patent number: 6890221Abstract: A mating connector comprises both a receptacle connector and a plug connector. The receptacle connector has an insulative housing and at least one conductive receptacle contact with a pair of spaced walls forming a plug contact receiving space. The plug connector has an insulative housing and at least one conductive contact having a pair of spaced walls that converge to form a projection engageable in the plug receiving space of the receptacle contact. In each case, the spaced walls are joined by a bridging structure that unites the walls. The plug and receptacle contacts are retained in a housing by engagement of opposed lateral edge portions of the contacts with the housings in a manner to enhance heat dissipation by convection by maintaining substantial portions of the contacts spaced from the housing walls and from each other. The bridging structure may include a retention element for engaging respective connector housings to retain the contact in the housing.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 2003Date of Patent: May 10, 2005Assignee: FCI Americas Technology, Inc.Inventor: Douglas L. Patent number: 6860762Abstract: An electrical cable and connector assembly having an electrical cable comprising a 12 Volt supply conductor and a 5 Volt supply conductor; and an electrical connector connected to the electrical cable. The electrical connector includes a 12 Volt supply contact connected to the 12 Volt supply conductor, a 5 Volt supply contact connected to the 5 Volt supply conductor, and a 3.3 Volt supply contact connected to the 5 Volt supply conductor by a voltage step down system located inside a housing of the electrical connector. With this embodiment, the connector can be connected to a device, such as a disc drive, requiring 12 and 5 Volt inputs or alternatively can be connected to a device requiring 12 and 3.3 Volt inputs.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2003Date of Patent: March 1, 2005Assignee: FCI Americas Technology, Inc.Inventors: Conway F. Spykerman, Steve Y. Wong, Douglas L. Wagner

Patent number: 6402552Abstract: An electrical connector comprising a contact wafer having at least one electrical contact connected to a first housing piece; a second housing piece having a contact wafer receiving area with snap lock latching surfaces, and a third housing piece overmolded onto rear ends of the first and second housing pieces. The first housing piece is snap lock inserted into the contact wafer receiving area and forms a seal between the first and second housing pieces. The seal between the first and second housing pieces substantially prevents flash blow by between the first and second housing pieces of material that forms the third housing piece as the third housing piece is overmolded onto the first and second housing pieces.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2001Date of Patent: June 11, 2002Assignee: FCI Americas Technology, Inc.Inventor: Douglas L. Patent number: 6217347Abstract: An electrical connector is adapted for use on a substantially planar surface. The connector comprises two arrays of electrical contacts coupled to the planar surface. One array is disposed directly above the other. Each contact in the lower array is mounted directly to the planar surface, with the mounting points arranged in a substantially straight line along the surface. The upper array of contacts is coupled to the planar surface by way of one or more mounting tabs fixed to the surface. The tabs elevate the upper array in relation to the planar surface and the first array. The mounting tabs are fixed to the planar surface along the same substantially straight line on which the first array is mounted. Thus, the mounting points for both arrays of contacts are disposed along the planar surface in a substantially co-liner relationship. The connector further comprises a housing that is fixed to the planar surface and engages the contacts.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1999Date of Patent: April 17, 2001Assignee: BERG Technology, Inc.Inventors: Mark S. Patent number: 5632628Abstract: Disclosed is a header which may be used on a disc drive base or on another such plate between a higher pressure space and a lower pressure space and which will effectively prevent or retard pressure loss from the higher pressure space. A molded plastic wafer member is positioned in an aperture in the plate. A fiberglass reinforced polymer board member is superimposed over the wafer. There are axially aligned transverse apertures in the board member and the wafer member and conductive pins pass through these aligned apertures. Adjacent the apertures in the board member are metallized surfaces and the pins are soldered to board member at this point to effect the pressurized seal.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1995Date of Patent: May 27, 1997Assignee: Berg Technology, Inc.Inventor: Douglas L.
