  • Publication number: 20230206421
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to the field of replicating or copying keys. More specifically, the present invention relates to creating a copy of a master key based on a captured image of the master key. The present invention identifies a set of target key information based on the image of the master key to provide for the cutting of a duplicate key blade copy to be shipped to a user. Additional key information may also be captured along with the image of the master key.

  • Publication number: 20220134450
Abstract: A system and method to automatically extract bitting information, such as keycode information, for replicating original/master key. System comprises an imaging device that scans the key blade of the original key and sends images to the server where the keycode gets extracted using an iterative software algorithm based on maximum likelihood principle. In one example a system comprises a kiosk which includes SBC (Single Board Computer), imaging device, touch screen and transponder identification module determines compatible SKU (from internal SKU database) if needed, and a compatible key with a matched cut key blade gets delivered to the location of Kiosk to get paired to the car. Another type system comprises a Smartphone/tablet with CKE application instead of KIOSK to scan the original keyblade. The application sends images to a central server for decoding and cutting a duplicate key, and a compatible duplicate key with matched cut key blade is delivered to the associated customer.

  • Publication number: 20220139138
Abstract: A kiosk-based system provides enhanced processes for replicating or copying keys including automotive keys and including transponder keys requiring programming. A set of user interfaces guides users through master key identifying, key blank selecting, master key scanning and duplicate key cutting processes as well as programming programmable keys. The invention provides a Quick Reference redundancy to add an additional layer of accuracy to avoid errors in selecting key blanks and in cutting selected key blanks. The system creates a copy or duplicate of a master key based on a captured image of the master key and stored key data.

  • Patent number: 11282312
Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method, and apparatus for pairing a vehicle key or remote keyless entry device with a vehicle by a dongle connected to an OBD port of the vehicle. The OBD programming dongle operates without a connection to an external device and pairs one or more keys with a vehicle without user intervention after the pairing process has started. The OBD programming dongle may be linked to a specific vehicle by the VIN code of the specific vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20210245319
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to the field of replicating or copying keys. More specifically, the present invention relates to creating a copy of a master key based on a captured image of the master key. The present invention identifies a set of target key information based on vehicle and or lock information as well as the image of the master key to provide for the cutting of a duplicate key blade copy to be delivered to a user or to another location. Additional key information may also be captured along with the image of the master key.

  • Publication number: 20210237175
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to the field of replicating or copying keys. More specifically, the present invention relates to creating a copy of a master key based on a captured image of the master key by using a laser scanning of the master key and decoding the master key based on the captured image. The present invention identifies a set of target key information based on the image of the master key to provide for the cutting of a duplicate key blade copy using a key scanning and cutting system located at a retail or end location. Additional key information may also be captured along with the image of the master key.
